Stayed here a few times as it is such a nice place. The people are friendly. Food is scrummy and good value (as is the booze!). Rooms are comfy (not full hotel standard but you are staying at a pub). Breakfast is freshly cooked, and...More

Popped in on the off chance of a late lunch and were delighted with our food and the convivial environment. Staff were courteous and prolifically apologetic about how busy they were. Food arrived within their suggested delay time and was delicious- no need for apologies...More

We went for dinner last night. The starter and pudding were ok. However the main course was horrible. It was under seasoned, with a split watery sauce from frozen prawns! We won't be going back for dinner. The quality of cooking and produce used just...More

Another pub with a wonderful setting, lovely big beer garden and plenty of indoor seating. The menu was good, we had 3 different types of sandwich, all generously filled. We will go back and try their dinner menu.

A traffic jam loomed ahead on the A303 just beyond the brown sign to this pub. So I made an instant decision to have lunch there, and was delighted with what I found. A smart but friendly rural pub, with a beautiful peaceful garden, food...More

We recently stayed at the inn for two days and were very satisfied. Our room overlooked the garden and was well furnished with a comfy bed and large bathroom. Breakfast was fine and so was the evening meal we had on one night. Great value...More

We think that the advent of a lovely sunny June Friday meant that the Inn was very busy and potentially they were understaffed for the number of customers. This made service really quite slow. I chose the fish of the day, two of our group...More

The C&V don't do a carvery as such. Usually have a roast on the menu, but can't guarantee this. Last time I had one it was just under £13.
