Nice food. If windows were cleaned it would make a big difference

Had lunch here one Saturday with my 3 children after swimming lessons. Lovely food, excellent service. However windows need cleaning. They were quite grubby and this was off putting. If they were cleaned it would make a difference!

Don’t judge by the surroundings

We asked a couple of locals where is a good place for a meal and they recommended a few options and then added but if you want a good meal but not worried about fancy surroundings try La Candela. When we walked in we understood what they were saying. Don’t get me wrong the place is clean but the surroundings were very basic. The service was keen and helpful but once again was just basic. The food arrived and we enjoyed a well cooked enjoyable meal. Definitely don’t judge by the surroundings, if you after simply a good meal, this is a good place for that. We would dine here again.

By choice do not bother

We stopped just by chance passing through on our way home. Food was pretty poor and felt like it had come from a tin. Soup had no flavour, prawns pretty average. Mains had no real thought to them, pizza very average, tagliatelle probably from a packet, sauce bland. Average home cooking better than this. We would have been better off going for fish and chips. The whole place, like the food lacked any sort of passion, soon as you walked in you could feel it. Staff nice enough but does not make up for the rest. Best say disappointing.

Went to this restaurant a few months ago. Our waitress Aisling was very polite and helpful. She couldnt do more for us and the food was good. I have since returned, the food was not great and the customer service was not good. Will not be returning…

Not recommending place

Waitress was nice that's the only positive feedback. FOOD WAS NOT GOOD. Pizza was not fresh rather re - heated and even worse- arrived on table only 4-5 min from ordering and it was lightly warm. Eating cold pizza - not pleasant. Also it tasted not fresh - so I will never come back.

Me and a few friends dined here for our yearly get together recently! The staff were incredibly friendly and we were well looked after! The interior was unusual but I liked it! When we ordered the food did not delay and was delicious and fresh! I have been in here on quiet and busy times and I want to say the standard from different times are the exact same and are excellent! I will definitley be back and I would recommend to anyone!

Quick dinner after hike in Galtee mountains

We wanted something quick before heading back to our hotel as we were quite tired from a long day. We were served very quickly which was very appreciated. I think we arrived before the saturday night crowd (6pm) and in less than an hour we were done. The pizzas were very good, I loved the cheese that was on top, which I found different from other pizza I could eat. Prices were very good too and the waitress was dynamic.

Pleasant surprise

We popped into La Candela for a quick bite and had a pasta main course each. No complaints about the food. Very tasty. We were in two minds about going in though. The entrance doors need some paint and interior needs some decoration and ambience. Would go back again though.

We had piping hot Lasagne and Pizza Calzone - both delicious. The side salad is huge and fresh. As dessert wonderful Strawberry Cheesekake and Espresso. Very friendly service, the staff does it's best. Not licenced, but you can bring your own wine without corking charge. La Candela is meanwhile one of the very few places to get an evening meal in Tipp, if you don't want to join Asian Restaurants.

Excellent Food, excellent service, very accomodating

Arrived late into Tipperary. Got to restaurant 10 minutes before closing and they were super accomodating. Did not rush us. We had appetizers, salads, main entree and dessert. Sticky Toffee Pudding with ice cream was excellent. Family had Polli Limone, Pasta Arrabiata, Pasta Carbonara. We would order them all again. The honey-mustard homemade dressing was excellent. Server was super friendly and made us feel quite at home! Bravo!

Scone Base Pizza.....Terrible

Seeing that this was reputadly "Italian" we decided Pizza would be a good choice as Pizza defines the quality of an Italian restaurant. What a disappointment. We asked the waitress if they were thin and crispy before ordering and she said they were. Two Pizzas delivered to the table were made of what was a scone base, thick and heavy. There was enough cheese for two pizzas on each one. Maybe their other dishes are good but they need to rethink what they serve as a Pizza. The place need a major overhaul and upgrade as their is nothing in it that reflects Italian. There is no atmosphere to encouage anyone to return which we will not be doing. The girl that served us was very attentive and helpful.
