Very disappointed. It’s a nice setting and the menu is broad. But the service is dreadful, they are understaffed and seem to be constantly overwhelmed. We waited an hour for our food and when it arrived the steaks were completely over cooked. We would have ordered dessert but were afraid of another hour’s wait!

Doesn't look like much from the outside but inside it's fab. Modern stylish and the service is top notch. Just like to add this is the first restaurant I have felt so safe in during COVID. Temperature check at the door. Huge spacing between tables. The staff were flat out but still very attentive and helpful. The menu is too good... too hard to choose what you want! - I went planning to get steak but the non steak options sound unreal also, but I went for the sirloin steak and oh my lord it was unreal. It was like cutting into butter it was so tender, best steak I think I ever had so lean and cooked to perfection. The pepper sauce was to die for and the portions are so generous, chips, mash and vegetables accompanying it (mash was fab) they even give you a spare sauce just in case. Starter was lovely also we just shared chicken wings which was a good plan with the mains being so large. Cocktails looked fab - next time. Will definitely be going back. Also there is no phone coverage in there which is actually a blessing in disguise as you get a night free from phones 😆 Thanks a mill.

Right from the start our highly anticipated visit to Deansgrove was disappointing. When we first arrived we had to walk through what looked more like a pub where the most people were eating were packet of Hunky Dorys. I am pretty sure we were seated at the wrong table as a few minutes after we sat down a waiter came to take away the spare part of our table to make another for a waiting group. The tables were not spaced out at 2m, to be frank it looked like Covid wasn’t in this place at all. The menu was varied and broad, although for a steakhouse only offered one sauce with the steak and no detail on the way it was cooked etc. Our waiters were attentive but needed better training and kept lifting up their visors in front of us. People from other tables kept mingling which seemed to be the norm there. The food was ok when it arrived. Could have been hotter. On our way out there seemed to be a sing song going on in a snug of sorts in the bar and the manager left us out the door with his visor pulled up. It was disappointing from start to finish - food and Covid wise.

I was regular to the Venue and Deansgrove restaurant. At the start Deansgrove was nice and the staff are really good. But I think lately the place is after taking a real dive. When you pay up against €20 for a chicken burger you would expect it to be decent but it's really not. When I got the same burger when it first opened it was much much better and you don't mind paying good money for it. But because the restaurant has went through so many chefs since opening and the current chef is really not up to scratch at all. I really don't think it's worth the price you pay for it.

I was part of a party of 7 that dined in Densgrove Steak House. I didn't know what to expect ! As the restaurant was opened on the "Venu" I had heard a lot of mixed reviews. My review is "Badly Needed". From the waitress with the short blonde hair to the food that was served, our experience was really exceptional. 2 of the party recognised the waitress from other eateries and to say she was professional, witty, and most of all a people person would not be enough praise. She knew the menu, get reccomdations were spot on and her humour had me and my partner at ease from the minute she poured our water. I would highly recommend Deansgrove, Food, Setting, Ambiance and most of all the staff is what is lacking in this very hard Industry... Well Done all ..

I have eating in Deansgrove on a few occasions where the food and staff where top class service. Booked a table last week after a long lock down. The waiter named Stephen who served us was so helpful and polite, but the food was horrendous. Vegetables were burned, the sauce with the steak was made up of bits of fat and grizzle which looks terrible. I ordered a side portion of onion rings which I couldn’t eat as they were so burnt. The chef here has really slipped big time since I ate there before. Staff looked totally confused even though there wasn’t many people there. I would hate to be there on a busy night. Will definitely never eat there again.

The website states: “Deansgrove Steakhouse is a restaurant where great food and wine come together in a way that is so simple and yet so exciting! Excellent service and warm ambiance always makes for a wonderful evening at the Deansgrove Steakhouse” Unfortunately, we didn’t get to sample any of this. We did not receive excellent service as we weren’t even afforded the courtesy of being shown to a table having gone to the bother of booking. The lady who (I would say met us but this wouldn’t be correct) made eye contact with us as to why we were standing by the “please wait to be seated sign” basically told us to find any seat in the bar. Now at this time the bar was in full swing with the Tipperary/Waterford match . If I wanted to watch the hurling up close and personal, I would have gone to Walsh Park to see and hear it (probably not as well). Don’t get me wrong, I have no issue with the hurling, it’s a perfectly reasonable thing for a bar to have on but I didn’t go to the bother of booking a family Easter Sunday meal in a restaurant to eat with the noise of a hurling match in the background. Also I didn’t go to the bother of booking a table in your restaurant to be told “go find one yourself”. My husband asked the lady “if you don’t have our table then I suppose we should go somewhere else” to which the lady responded” I suppose you‘d better.” So we did!! The funny thing is that we were actually trying here today to see if we would book our son’s christening. I think you can guess that outcome . It doesn’t take much effort to take a family who has made a reservation to their table. If it was to a table in the bar, it wouldn’t have been our expectation but just to dismiss us in such a way was very rude and unprofessional. As you can tell the whole experience was unpleasant and I wrote to the restaurant privately in the hope that you could provide some further training for their staff. Surprise, surprise my email has gone unanswered so perhaps they may respond to me here?

The whole experience was pleasurable right from the start, from booking online to the whole dining experience. The food was amazing. The staff were lovely and very professional. Adhering to Covid procedures in a subtle manner creating a very relaxing ambiance. This has proven difficult in many places during these difficult times so well done. Will definitely be back.

Food was lovely, but some of it cold. The service from waitresses was horrendous, we needed to order everything twice as it was forgotten about. One staff member in particular was more interested in chatting to a young couple who she clearly knew and ignored us on 2 occasions while we tried to catch her attention. Will not be rushing back.

The service here was shocking, went for a family meal on Easter Sunday. Seated quickly but that's where the efficency ended! Food was fine except I seem to have gotten children's portions of everything. Older lady proceeded to poke me and my wife asking "what do you want"? When it came time to take dessert orders. Another younger girl proceeded to throw her eyes to heaven when I asked about an order which had not come yet despite everyone else being half way through our meals. Portions of chips arrived on basically with the dessert orders even after being clearly cancelled as they did not arrive with the main course. Baby bowls ordered which did not come... had to be chased up. Had to refill our own water jugs! No high chairs available for 2 babies which we stated when we booked. Asked to split the bill up between us to which the older lady replied "it would be easier for me if ye worked it out yourself" All the wait staff were an absolute calamity, I would not go here again and either would the 14 others in the party.... terrible shame what has become of this establishment!

We held our wedding reception of 100 people at Deansgrove on September and people are still coming up to us to tell us what a great day it was. Richard, Jeff and all their staff their pulled out all the stops, the day from start to finish we were treated like royalty. The food was outstanding, and the service of all the waiting staff that day was second to none. All our guests still comment on it and all the little extras they did for us that day including the singing staff member which went down a huge treat with everyone. We wanted a fun, easy going day with great food and that’s exactly what they did for us. Cannot recommend Deansgrove enough.

Had the most delicious lunch at Deansgrove club house yesterday. Brought my kids with me which wasn't an issue at all. The manager Claire and all the staff were fabulous and really looked after us. Everything was spotless and social distancing in place. Couldn't recommend more. We will definitely be back. Well done and keep up the good work.

It's quite literally an asylum center with a bar that charges hotel prices, restaurant closed all the time so have to have food in bar, fancy a family meal beside a heap of unvetted males wandering around the place, then this is the place to go
