Possibly the most helpful and obliging staff I've dealt with in a long time. Went above and beyond for me as I had a special request. Both the food and coffee are top notch and the staff are great. This place offers both customer service...and quality in droves. Definitely worth a visit. The Cannoli's are the business.More

Been to this place many times whenever we pass by Birdhill. I am a coffee enthusiast and I would suggest that all coffee lovers come here. The coffee is one of the best in country, as well as the beautiful view and amazing staff. Got...great advice on how to make perfect coffee at home also. While it was fantastic the first time I came, it kept improving every time. Quite pricey for coffee but it's worth it.More

First time customer. Wanted to buy some irish produce for this christmas. The order came quick and all intact. However irish tuna in olive oil instead of in water and quinoa crisps instead of hummus. No explanation. It would cost too much too return. 3/5...for me.More

Appalled at the service i 'didnt' receive today. On entering the shop with my Mother, who was wearing her mask, a member of the staff approached and asked if i had a facemask to which i replied no as im asthmatic im medically exempt from...wearing one. After a couple minutes choosing from the overpriced menu (€35 for a small bag of coffee) i was approached by another member of staff.. the same question was rudely asked to which i gave the same answer. I was then asked for proof of my medical condition??!! She said everyone has to wear a mask to which i replied some people are exempt from face coverings! to which the young ignorant woman replied sarcastically im not serving you with out a face mask as its against our policy, and then told me to leave the store!! A policy that stinks of discrimination and who would be reliable if I was made wear a face covering and then suffered an asthma attack on this premises! This rude staff member (sereka) would be and this coffee shops policy, your staff needs to be made aware of the gov.ie website exemptions from face coverings!Asthma should not be taken lightly! Incompetent, rude and full of attitude staff. I will happily not be returning to this overpriced establishment. Also heads up they dont allow children either yet they have plently of outdoor space!!More

I much enjoy coming here. The place is modern, offers beautiful views and a great selection of coffees and related appliances. My most recent experience was disappointing. The usual Ethiopian coffee tasted off. Wondered if it was the milk. It is a mild selection and...usually tastes very smooth. The last one I had had a terrible after taste. I still gave the place a 4 star rating as all past experiences were good and I just happen to complete a series of reviews today. Hope that next time will be better. If so, I'll happily share it here.More

Hey Wind4surfing, we have a new ethiopian on called Biftu Gudina and this tastes very different to GUJI highlands which has been a big feature on our bar for a long while. Could that be the reason ? GUJI is light in body with blueberries...More

I am a regular visitor here and it has been especially welcome during the Covid19 period when great efforts were made to provide a service despite restrictions. The views over the Shannon valley are spectacular and the building itself is light and airy with a...laid-back vibe that encourages visitors to linger over their conversations or laptops. The coffees available come from all parts of the globe and are roasted on- site guaranteeing flavours that are not achieved elsewhere in the west of Ireland. Sorcha's team of baristas are well-informed, helpful and cheerful even when working under pressure, The new adjoining artisan food-store offers an impressive array of produce, some of it made locally, The child-free policy is widely appreciated, and as there are other places, a few minutes away, that welcome children, there is no need for anyone to feel disgruntled at the no-kids policy here.More

The staff are aloof & arrogant, borderline rude. The coffee is okay and seems overpriced for something that isn’t special. I wouldn’t recommend this place. I’ve had much better coffee, prepared by much friendlier staff, at a more reasonable price. This place smells of Emperor’s...New Clothes. The ‘adults only’ thing is a gimmick to distract you from being over charged for bang average product. Wake up and smell the coffee, give this place a miss.More

Hold my self back here not to swear. I don't give a rat if it's adult only whatever policy u have, but they way you speak to the customers NO NEED TO BE RUDE!! It was a warm day and I could not leave my...1 month old baby in the fleepin car while I'm getting a takeaway coffee! Baby n my toddler were even OUTSIDE but we r still told that we can't be in the premises with kids. THEY WERE NOT INSIDE UR CAFE!!More

Not welcoming, no children allowed in shop or cafe. My family had to walk 4km to Ballina to find a warm Irish welcome. We will not be going back to The Old Barracks adult only cafe.
