Four of us ordered two curries and two lamb shanks, we were told there would be a 30min wait for food as they were very busy. The bar only had two members of staff despite being a very busy Saturday lunchtime! The meals arrived after only 20mins, but my wife's lamb shank was still frozen in the middle. There was... More

Yes Diamond Tap is cheap yes food is great value, but the place is the worse pub ever for lack of staff and those that do find themselves behind the bar. A barman with a broken hand so he can't pull pints, place is busy so time for staff to have a break upstairs.....the place is dark and dingy enough... More

I quite like the diamond tap but your bouncers let you down by periodically sending random people out for what I can imagine is no reason what so ever... for this I rate you the lowest possible because the security staff are no better than a bag of chimps

I have used the Diamond Tap most days of the week since my own local closed and I make a number of observations. Firstly, the majority of the staff are Diamonds ( no pun intended) Unfortunately they are let down by the surly attitude of two male members in particular. A please and a thank you does not cost anything... More

Wetherspoons, if you've been in one - you've been in all of them. I think the diamond tap is no different, to my local one and in fairness they are budget food and drink so you won't expect too much.

This can be a ok place for a quick bite to eat whilst out shopping or something but I wouldn't recommend for family occasions it seems to be the place where all the local undesirables prefer to hang out as well and Saturday nights it becomes chav central avoid it then especially however lunchtime meals are good here or a... Terrible place with very little redeeming factors. Not worth considering in Newbury at all, visit somewhere more enlightening.
