We always return here whenever we are on the East Coast. Great food served in traditional surroundings. We are always remembered and made to feel welcome whenever we return. The food choice on the menu is limited but supported by daily specials. It's local sourced and cooked to perfection. Great up with great staff, would highly recommend going out of... More

Consistently awesome food and excellent beer. This place is a pleasure to visit and produces top quality food at very reasonable prices. Had a meal for 6 of us on boxing day and it was the best pub food I had tasted all year, lovely staff, we all had a great time☺

This is well worth the drive if your are staying Scarborough and fancy some proper pub grub. Lovely rustic country pub with open fires, horse brass, low beams - you get the idea. Very warm welcome from staff and the food fast excellent. The steak pie was to die for. Kids had scampi which they enjoyed and the Mrs had... More

Second visit and could possibly be even better than the last time and even on that visit I didn't think it could improve any more! Warm welcome and managed to fit me and my partner in on what looked like a busy night. Food all clearly home cooked and massive portions for a fair price, without a doubt will be... More

You are made to feel welcome as soon as you walk through the door. Staff are attentive (although very busy) and the food was out of this world. Fine dining country style! Fab!

We had been meaning to visit this place for a while but were always put off by the full car park, this was to our loss as the pub is decievingly large with a few seperate rooms . We were taken to our reserved table for three in the lounge which was full but buzzing with a friendly atmosphere, the... More

22 family members aged 0 to 70 were warmly welcomed in this great pub. We booked in advance and the pub was very accommodating with changes. It was very Christmassy decked out and had a lovely fire. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend.

Enjoyed a bite of lunch here between Xmas & New Year. Good atmospheric feel with real fire - although we couldn't get anywhere close to it ! Friendly service too but the real winner was the food. All we had was a light 'snack' portion of Whitby Scampi & chips each but both scampi & chips were a cut above... More

What a gem of a pub this is! Came across it quite by accident while on holiday in area. Staff are fabulous, so friendly and attentive. We had a meal which was just delicious, my husband had steak and he said it was the best he had tasted anywhere. I had lasagne with home made chunky chips which was absolutely... More

Had a fabulous meal here with beautiful food. Lovely atmosphere and excellent staff and very friendly attentive owner. My fish was yummy but my husband said it was the best steak he had ever had. I had a mouthful and had to agree !
