Great place to have a snack or light meal in Braemar. The good is good, loved the scones. And the view from the back windows and small patio is worth sitting there.

We stopped off for some lunch prior to our journey back home to Fife. The menu was adequate for a small cafe, lovely home baking on display and choices available for gluten free and soy/ almond milk. They also stock a good range of teas, including Assam, which is rarely stocked anywhere. The food was of good quality and the... More

We pop into The Bothy most times we're in Ballater and used their sister establishment in Braemar this year on the way home, for breakfast, after checking out of our self-catering lodge. Both restaurants are adjoined to an outdoor shop which covers one of my other passions apart from eating!! The Ballater one is very light and airy with a... More

Stopped here on way back from Braemar, it was very busy when we entered and managed to find a table. Unfortunately with only one person taking orders we had to wait, not great when you are disabled, shame they didn't offer table service. Food is lovely and fresh, sandwiches made to order served with a little salad and crisps very... More

Having been on the road for several weeks purchasing average coffee every day, we called into The Bothy Ballater where Linda is the barista. Thank you Linda. I wanted to pack you into my car and take you with me for the next six weeks. Your coffee is amazing. This little shop is a must for any coffee drinkers traveling... More

What a way to enjoy the Cairngorm scenery whilst enjoying a wonderfully cooked Breakfast looking out over the river below. The staff were engaging and very friendly and catered for all your needs efficiently. Breakfast was beautifully cooked and more than enough to satisfy your energy requirements for the day ahead. We frequented the Bothy each day during our stay... More

Thank you for such a wonderful review - we're really glad you enjoyed your visit and hope to see you again. However you have posted this to our Ballater business which doesn't have a view or a river so would you be so kind as to repost it to The Braemar Bothy. Many thanks! More

We had a lovely latte and beyond heavenly parsnip, Apple and ginger cake. As a baker I was impressed with the quality, variety and unique selection of sweets. Lunches looked delicious as well.

Lovely friendly, warm coffee/tea shop. Very busy, but so good that it's open on Sunday. The panini & toasty were freshly made & delicious, as was the coffee. A little pricy perhaps, but worth it.

Had the hot veggie broth and a sammie with ham, mustard, and pickle - simple meal made exceptionally well. Great little cafe serving sandwiches, soups, and homemade cakes. Good place to grab a bite and a coffee/tea and relax with a book!
