Like some others, we stopped here en route to Northumberland. The cafe is really convenient, being right on the A69 with plenty of parking. They have a “build your own” sandwich menu so you can have more or less anything. Very tasty, very convenient, very...reasonable. What’s not to like?More

Stopped here on our way to Northumberland, a lovely little cafe, felt safe with the COVID rules in place. The coffee was lovely and hot, there was a huge choice of cakes and different scones, we had the scone’s they were really good. Staff very...friendly towards us and our dog, asked us first then gave him some fresh turkey. Will probably stop on our way home to sample some different flavour scone’s.More

Picked up afternoon tea for my gran's 74th birthday. This has to be one of the best we've had. Delicious sandwiches and cakes - can't fault anything about them. Very impressed that you get a plain, cheese AND fruit scone - each were absolutely lovely....Also liked the added chutney and coleslaw! Nothing fancy, nothing over the top - and that's what we loved about it. Great portions, good value for money. I would definitely recommend and will definitely be returning 😊More

I'm sorry you thought there was a disappointing selection. Most people thoroughly enjoy our afternoon tea which consists of: per person: 4 different freshly made sandwiches, a slice of homemade quiche with chutney and our special homemade pink coleslaw. A plain, a fruit and a...More

Sally's is fast becoming a weekend haunt for us. Good quality, good value food, and amazing cakes! It's refreshing, considering some of the tourist traps in the Hadrian's Wall area that feel they can charge what they want for mediocre food and service, that Sally's...exists and provides amazing food. Everything is good, but can heartily recommend the quiche (and of course, the cakes!)More

Thank you so much. We all need a kind word in these strange times and this great review has perked us up no end. We continue to be open for take away for the time being and hope to reopen the tearoom soon.

Standard cafe menu of sandwiches, quiche, baked potatoes and soup with a selection of cakes, scones and tray bakes but all done really well. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly service and good quality. Busy at peak times with take away orders as well as sit down meals....Would be good if they offered a kids menu or at least smaller portions but otherwise very nice.More

Thank you for your review. We do offer children's portions and prices for those that are eating a child sized portion. Generally for under 10 year olds. For afternoon tea we offer a half sized afternoon tea for under 10s too.

Recommended by several locals we met whilst visiting the area, Sally's is a little shop catering for eating in or taking out. Excellent chioce of breads and fillings, and to my delight, also gluten free bread, and vegan cake. Each takeout comes with a little...salad in a box. The choice of home made cakes was fab too. Couldn't fault it one bit - a real find. Just wish I had one closer to home!More
