Whilst the place is no doubt over priced it has a captive market with no local rivals. The food is cook and prepared to a good standard and the staff are helpful and friendly.

Lovely walk today round Sutton Park with the dog which we both enjoy very much but the dog loves it even more. I love it because I know after a good hour or so there is either a bacon butty or a nice big breakfast at the end at the Bistro! They have even got cushions and blankets to use... More

Visited for the first time about three months ago, with my mom, on a Saturday morning, after enduring the 'joys' of the weekly visit to tesco at beggars bush. Enjoyed it that much we have visited every Saturday since. The full English breakfast is excellent, with good quality ingredients. From the breakfast specials I thoroughly enjoyed the smoked kippers with scrambled... More

So hard to review, but this place is either fantastic or awful depending on why you've come here. I'll start with the positives; Fantastic- because if you want to walk your dog or have come to feed the ducks, then how wonderful to stumble on a cute cafe in an unexpected place. Somewhere that is more dog friendly than people... More

We used to live in the area and loved going to the bistro. Ordered 2 x sandwich's which came with chips, for my daughter ordered beans on toast with sausage. The food came out within 5 minutes which was impressive. So why the 1 star.... the waitress came over and put the sandwich's down, very small and bread was badly... More

I live locally and ramble round the Blackroot area a lot. My friends and I always use the Bistro and it is ideal for Breakfast, Lunch or just a snack after a walk. The food preparation area is small, so the range of food is limited but still very good and sometimes one has to wait a while. This is... More

We stopped here today while on a walk through Sutton park. My husband I and ordered a scones which were £2.95 with butter, jam and cream. We ordered one scone with just butter and the other one with just jam. We still had to pay £2.95 so I said we would have the cream with it. But they didn't have... More

Good to sit outside with a warm breakfast but... Agree with other reviewers that a quid cheaper would make this place more reasonable value. And advising customers at the till of a 45 minute wait (!!) for breakfast food would be basic good manners... Poor show. Asked for drinks to come with food appeared to perplex the girl at the...
