Can't believe it's taken me so long to visit this lovely place. The food was tasty, generous and good value for money. Great combination of lunches, drinks and cakes. The setting is perfect, especially on a sunny day and the service was friendly and efficient. With a bit more advertising this little place could be packed and have all the... More

Great value for money and a tranquil atmosphere to enjoy your beverages and food in! Me and my wife come here often, parking at a fantastic nearby car park on Grafton Way, IP1 1AX!

Everything is just lovely about the Sanctuary! Food wonderfully cooked, good menu with a good choice & fantastic daily specials. Staff friendly & welcoming, beautiful, light ambiance. I would say if you are ever in Ipswich check this place out! Oh! And the scones are the BEST I have ever had!

The Sanctuary is attached to a church and indeed lives up to its name . Lots of large glass windows make you feel you are almost outside . Good friendly serving staff and the coffee came with a freshly baked scone .

A regular for work lunches. Nice and relaxed and fast service. Is best to book if you go on a Friday although they do always try to accommodate.

Lunch with four colleagues was a very pleasant experience in this bright clean space. Surrounded by glass in the precinct of St Nicholas Church, the atmosphere is more comfortable than one might expect. The menu is a short list of simple dishes and there were about half a dozen specials on a chalk board. Our server was cheerful, friendly, tolerant,... More

I eat here every week and it is great. Jane, Lydia and the team are lovely and the menu is very tasty. The jacket potato in particular is delicious, so much so that I don't even need to order it now, it's just assumed as my usual!

Came here for a friend's leaving lunch so the place was packed, which could have been overwhelming for all concerned. Not so; the atmosphere was one of calm and serenity; staff were well organised and friendly and the simple lunchtime fare was well cooked and presented and, most importantly, tasty. A really sweet little place and fair value.

You wouldn't come upon this place accidentally being hidden next to the old St Nicholas church (entrance is off Cardinal Square car park) but is really is worth a try. Quiet and airy restaurant with very pelasant surrounding and everything cooked to order. Menu is not extensive, but daily specials add some variety, and food it excellently prepared and presented....
