Convivial, down-to-earth cafe-pub which hosts music events by night. Friendly, rocking crowd. I was lucky enough to catch some very good music - first a young indie-rock band, second an older group doing surf rock, Beatles etc covers. There's an outside area at the back...with tables and chairs - if I remember correctly, this is where people go to smoke. Prices about average for NO. IIRC, wifi is available. If I'm not mistaken, the locale's name "Ila Brainnstasjon" comes from what was once a local train station. I chanced upon this place as it was near my accommodation. One of the highlights of my recent visit to Norway. Highly recommended.More

If you are in the neighbourhood of Ila, this is probably the place to go to have a coffee or a beer. It is small and cosy, with nice people, it has a few options for drinks and snacks and sometimes they host some nice...small concerts with local artists.More

Its a very nice place where you can feel like in home. There are often good concerts. The food is good and specially the hamburger!

Went in for a quick supper, I tried the chicken pita and my boyfriend had a burger. Both were really good, and really cheap! The place is tiny, but has a nice atmosphere and a bunch of board games one can use. They also have...concerts and stuff, worth a visit :)More

This is a great place to go when you want something different. It is small and cozy with very eclectic patrons, especially on music nights. It feels a like those places where you could imagine artists and authors used to (or still do?) get together...for lively discussions. On most Thursdays, though, it gets extremely busy with Norwegian Språkkafe meetings, but it all adds to the atmosphere.More
