This place has changed a lot since I was last here in the early 70's and my maternal grandmother owned a stall here and my paternal grandfather would buy me a bag of prawns for a treat . Amazing trip down memory lane for me as I traveled from my home in Australia for this visit. Highly recommend a trip... More

A small cozy seafood market in a building by the harbour, has a cafe/restaurant offering fresh tasty dishes. Ate great mussels there))

Two of us had the shrimp, a large bowl of tiny ones needing to be peeled and dipped in garlic mayonnaise, and one had the crab and a fourth had the cod. All were good with the basket of bread and some beer or water to wash it all down. Enjoy looking at all the raw fish for sale across... More

Combined fish market and restaurant with tremendous selection. Informal and medium priced - come before it gets busy.

Had a casual lunch here and chose fish soup. Thought it expensive but when it came it was delicious. The chef had topped it with some olive oil and served with focaccia bread. Full of fish.

Eating out can be very expensive in Trondheim but seafood is relatively cheaper and they are so fresh. We came here with recommendation from a local friend. They had fish soup and shrimps. I ordered fish burger and my Dad had mussels. Another friend had salmon steak which was very delicious. The burger was average but mussels and shrimps were... More

Conveniently located right next to where the ferry leaves for Munkholmen (Munk Island), we stopped here twice during our stay. Food was fresh (we tried their smoked salmon and shrimp sandwiches, fish soup, smoked salmon fillet, fish balls, sauces); they even sell fresh baguettes and flatbreads. I'd say their prices were on par with prices you'd expect from major cities... More

It is not so many markets in Trondheim so it's good to have this one which offers some excellent fish and some nice seafood. Prices are obviously more expensive than in supermarkets but it's normal and it is really worth it to pay a bit more to have a much better quality.

Prices are a bit steep but the quality and taste is great! I would especially recommend the Bacalao, and it's a good place to try your first "fiskekake" - ask for any freshly fried ones :)

Nice to experience after some years,- still delicate clean and well taken care. Good quality specialities and fresh-from -the-sea-products. Come, tast and enjoy, - and have a chat with the staff. After string warnings about the Fisketorget in Bergen (Bergen should be ashamed abouth allowing something as bad as that) it was really nice to visit Ravnkloa in Trondheim !!!

The Ravnkloa web site is in Norweigian but many words are easily translatable. The market is mentioned in Lonely Planet as one of the three best seafood markets in Norway. Ravnkloa is a traditional fish market w many varieties of fish for purchase. This is largely a place for locals to purchase their seafood. The market also has prepared selections for take out and also will prepare some selections for eating there. We had the best seafood in Trondheim while there. We went for lunch everyday and sampled the traditonal fisksuppe, fishcakes, cod fish balls, etc etc etc. Even cod tongue which tasted so much better than it sounds. This entry is not meant to be published as a review. This was to suggest that you list it for future travelers to Trondheim. If you list Ravnkloa, please let me know and I will write a review, all of which will be 5 stars..... Thank you
