Bula just gets better for every year, and this year's visit was truly amazing. We loved _every_ dish, they tasted like fireworks and made us extremely happy (and left one of us maybe a bit too stuffed by the end). Will also note that the...vibe there is so chill and uplifting - the people there are amazing; laid back, friendly, funny and so knowledgeable about everything, just a great group. You won't regret this visit.More
The service is relaxed, fun but impeccable and the food absolutely delicious, balanced and creative. We had the 5 course menu and it did not disappoint. It is simply absolute heaven and we cant wait to get back.
There is only one thing to improve about this restaurant: they should be given a Michelin star. It starts with a very friendly and informative service, goes through a pleasant ambience and ends with a fantastic meal. The dishes are innovative, in different flavors and...cuisine trends. They are all balanced (crispy, crunchy, creamy, sweet, salty, spicy, nutty, ...). The dishes are coherent and very tasty and surprising. Usually, with multi-course menus, there is always a weaker dish - often the main course. Here everything was really top! In summary: a perfect evening!More
The evening in Bula Neobistro was from the beginning to the end simply top!!! The food was innovative and surprised with each course on the new. We took the 5-course menu and that was a big mistake, because with such a super fine cuisine, the...10-course menu would be the least. The team and the chef very sympathetic, natural and authentic. Definitely a must when you are in Trondheim.More
Great dinner with amazing juice pairing! We had a 5 course dinner and had a really nice evening: all the ppl working there gave us such a warm welcome & they had great knowledge about everything we got served. All the different dishes brought big...smiles to our faces and we were so full at the end…. Felt like we would have to roll all our way home 😂 thanks for giving us such a pleasant dining experience!More
My husband and I had the 10-course menu and it was exceptional! The food exceeded all our expectations and EVERY dish was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenal. If this restaurant is not on your bucket list, it should be! The food, service and atmosphere was...worth every krone. Hands down the best dining experience we’ve ever had! Highly (highly!) recommended!More
My girlfriend and me tried the 5 course dinner and truly enjoyed everything. The food, wine, atmosphere and service could not have been better. Everybody at Bula made our date 100% and we will definitely come back, and next time for the 10 course dinner.
Amazing food and great beer pairings (although a couple of the beers could’ve been a bit warmer). Proper rock’n roll food. Pure class. Love it! (If you don’t like your food well salted, visit Credo instead..)
I’ve been here several times; by my own, with my wife and with friends. The food is excellent. Fantastisk service; friendly, warm and informative. Our favourite place in town. Back soon!
Ok. So, we had two options - Bula or a restaurant with a Michelin star. Because we were tired...we chose Bula. break break Trondheim has a pretty-great restaurant scene. Over the past week. we've experienced excellent service, food...for a tourist, Trondheim is a place to...thrive. The people are clever, positive...the community is charming, clean and culturally rich. But... If there's a true "Michelin Star" restaurant here, I'd hate to see how much better it is than Bula. Firstly, Bula doesn't have a menu - it's chef choice/stage/course. You get told what you're eating. Have a problem with that? Don't go here. But, if you have any concept of a restaurant's "craft," Bula is IT. We were given a choice between 5 or 10 course meals...due to time, we chose 5. In hindsight, we wish it were 20. Each course is excellently plated, portioned and prepared - the wine flight was well-paired, too (though the food exceeded the wine by a factor of two). Atmosphere is shabby-chic and good for them. They're smart enough to know that accoutrement doesn't pay the bills as well as 'presentation.' To our server - you're an exceptional woman of shrewd EQ...thank you for the "natural" pinot (sorry but the only *ding* was the two pieces of cork in the wine glass) and your knowledge of the chef's craft was excellent. You spoiled us for the restaurant and Trondheim...if we return, we'll want to introduce you to our friends as you'll make us look good (that's a feat! ;) Know that your hats will be worn by people who care deeply about they work (like you) and be reminded that, "...you gotta try Bula!" If there were six stars, I'd take it but since there are only five, I clicked my mouse extra hard on the fifth. Thank you for a great evening and one of the best restaurant experiences EVER.More
I much prefer to write positive reviews but not being honest does not serve my fellow travelers well. This was one of the most anticipated meals of our Norwegian trip and the biggest disappointment. We booked the 10 course menu. On a positive note I...feel the staff tried really hard to create and present an innovative and playful meal. The pace, however, became grueling about halfway in and we were completely exhausted and feeling a little ill by hour four. The dishes that worked were the fried pork skin “snack” served with a flavored mayo; the fish tostada, though the tortilla could have been crisper; the mini hot dog with accompaniments (fun!), the dessert of vanilla sorbet with strawberries, and the gin and tonic Jell-O shot. The things that were not good were the angel hair pasta that was so complex the flavor palate ended up being gray, and the pork main course which was edible only. Several of the other courses, like the scallop one and the potato one, were needlessly complex and excessively salty. I hate to say we found our experience here to be rather miserable.More
Ten course dinner - perfect atmosphere, excellent tastes and very good service. Lovely evening and worth a visit when you in Trondheim🧡
All of a sudden we had a babysitter and decided to visit Bula which is located in our neighbourhood. The restaurant was fully booked but the very friendly waiter offered us a place in the bar which suited us perfectly. And the food is gourmet...on the road! Based on local fish/meat/produce surprising combinations of flavours and textures and sophisticated varieties on comfort food. Their kebab is great. You can order small courses one by one or set menus with drink packs. Super! Atmosphere is relaxed, so is the service - relaxed an knowledgeable I would say. Highly recommended and a superstar on Trondheim's food sceneMore
We just finished our dinner a minute ago and it was fantastic! The atmosphere (furniture, lighting and music) is what we expected for a neobistro. The waitstaff are courteous and great in giving service. The food..... the food is divine! The combination of flavors and...textures is impressive. The ingredients were locally-sourced so you get to taste them at their best. The excitement builds up for every dish being served. Their wine recommendations were perfect pairs to the dishes. René is a remarkable chef and Trondheim is lucky to have someone who challenges the food industry to give their best. Always a surreal experience tasting René's dishes.More
