Arakataka is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Oslo, delivering consistent high quality food and interesting flavor combinations. Yesterday was no exception! The reindeer tartar, duck and spaghetti with löyrom was particularly good. It's a value for money place, I like the wine selection they offer and the sommelier is very knowledgeable. I've dined there multiple times over the... More

We had the 4 course menu - all great and two of the courses were outstanding! For Norway it was not bad price especially given the super the quality of the food. Great service.

Food was fantastic. Each of the five courses on the set tasting menu were very clever with great and unexpected flavour combinations that worked superbly well. Also pretty good value considering very high quality of the food. Staff also very friendly and knowledgable. Highly enjoyable experience start to finish, will definitely be back next time in Oslo.

Together with nine of my colleagues I enjoyed a great evening at Arakataka in December. We chose the four-course meal (pre-booked), paired perfectly with different wines. The main course (lamb) was in my opinion the only dish that really stood out – with both interesting combinations, and an impeccable taste. The dessert (ice cream) and second starter (cod) were tasty... More

I visited this restaurant on a date night with my girlfriend. We were in Oslo for the weekend and wanted to eat somewhere special and "hip". It's definitely a very modern and fancy interior and the service is great. The quality and choice of dishes was tasty and at times interesting combinations. We had a very good evening though we... Visited place Sunday afternoon after a whole day walking around the city. No reservation but still got a table for two hours. Was very happy to hear that. But Recommend to make a reservation. The restaurant is recommended in Michelin guide. It got quite full in a one hour. Sitting alone I was suddenly in the full restaurant. Attentive staff... More

Excellent restaurant in a back street on east side of the city center. Serves Nordic inspired food. Four menu set is good value for money. Attentive service. Highly recommended.

Visited this restaurant again recently and wonder what happened since the last time we were here? The fantastic service from before was replaced with a cute but very surly server! We were a group in a really good mood and a small dose of charm from our server could have gone a long, long way!! Thomas however, was pretty helpful... More

We dropped in late after all servings had been made, but they still let us come in for a late night dinner. The dishes were all equally fantastic. Service was impeccable and the food was made by heart. Will never forget the creamy whitefish roe pasta. OMG. Highly recommend this restaurant for Scandinavian food lovers.

Very interesting and surprising restaurant...modern twist and tastes nordic style. All cooked or not to perfection, original local produce fresh from the market...five dishes later all satisfied...bravo young chef and his crew! Great, welcoming service and timing despite small kitchen...
