Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food and service in the restaurant were top class. We had the wine pairing which was expensive but very worth it. The menu variety was great, we had the 6 courses. The beef at the end was a little tough, and we were hoping...for reindeer but appreciate with a tasting menu you get what the chef prepares, it didn't detract from the evening. The next day we had drinks in the wine bar and it was much less friendlyMore

Amazing food!!! The upper restaurant (fine dinning set menu) was full, but the waiter fund me a spot at the downstair restaurant serving a la carte menu - tapas style. I ordered 2 fish courses - the soup and that grilled fish of the day....Both were prepared perfectly and with a delicate touch. I would definitely recommand. Price were also very affordable considering the Norvegian standards.More

my cab driver said to me earlier today that Tromso is a city of 90 thousand people that acts like a city of 1.2 million, and that's this restaurant...any of the people being nitpicky about small things like must have forgotten the 3 planes it...took them to get here (yeah, you may wait a little longer between some courses than others but y'all this isn't NYC, this is the arctic circle, get over yourselves)...i had a wonderful meal (special shout outs to the lamb sausage, reindeer steak, white chocolate and overall wine selection; the wines were unique and delicious) and natalia was so lovely...you should go hereMore

Reading great reviews on this restaurant, we wanted to try it out and decided to go for the 6 course menu instead of the 9 course. No à la carte offered. Price is around 100 Euros. We arrived at 7pm and left the restaurant at...10pm! And that’s because we skipped Trou normand and asked to get the last dish in a hurry. Dishes are ok- you feel the chef is making an effort but it’s not just there. Having eating in many many high end restaurant Michelin starred and not, this is not at the level they pretend to be. No bread is offered to start with. You get a slice with one of the dishes which is a soup. Dishes are mainly creamy and taste the same. The last dish is a duck and they didn’t ask how we wanted it cooked. It came barely cooked, so three of us didn’t eat it. We found it to be expensive for what you eat. And 3 hours is way too long to be sitting at a table restaurant. 2 hours is usually the maximum in high end restaurant.More

What an amazing evening. The staff are super friendly and very welcoming also super knowledgeable about the food and wines. We opted for the 7 course taster option with paired wines. In short if I could give 7 or 8 stars I would. The food...was exceptional, every course was cooked to perfection and the flavours were out of this world. The waiting staff told you all the ingredients and the providence of the wine also. I am not joking when I say that this restaurant should have Michelin stars. I really hope the photos do it justice.More

So I like my food, my wife says I am fussy, I like cooking and have attended numerous cookery schools to try and learn how ‘stuff is done’. Emmas Drømmekjøkken (Emma’s Dream Kitchen), is probably the best restaurant I have ever eaten in, ever! I...was in Trömso on a ‘foodie’ vacation. This was the last restaurant I was eating in before flying down to Lofoten Islands to attend ‘Kitchen On the Edge Of the World’, google to find out more! I had pre-booked a 7 course tasting menu and wine flight and was unbeknown to me, in for a real treat. There were more than 7 courses if you add amuse bouche and each course was perfectly presented, as you will see in the picture, perfectly balanced and delicious. I am more a seafood kind of person, and was in for a shock when one of dishes was presented, the Baked Skrei, Mussels, Jerusalem artichoke and dill. I started to eat each delicate morsel and, I actually started to cry, it was STUNNING, I have NEVER had such a PERFECTLY cooked piece of fish, it off the planet. The whole menu was brilliantly conceived, the wine pairings matched perfectly, service was just lovely the last night in Tromsø was a dream. EmmasDrømmekjøkken is a ‘must go’, I thought long and hard before writing this view, I don’t won’t people to know about it, keep us quiet, it’s not a Michelin place (who cares). Just Go there! it’s awesome, thank-you for making my night super special.More

Nice location overlooking the square. Very friendly, colourful staff who were welcoming and informative, talking about the food prepartion and wine pairing etc. We had the 7 course tasting menu, which was beautifully paced, full of originality, and wonderfully varied in texture and taste combinations....Thoroughly recommendedMore

Didn't eat here but went in for a beer. Very friendly and warm setting. Nice view of outside, just opposite the church. Beer was good, barman friendly. Worth a visit.

We ate here on Valentine's Day so they had a special menu but it was incredible. The service was spectacular - all the waitstaff was very knowledgeable about food and wine. They were also extremely accommodating to my various allergies and food restrictions despite it...being a fixed menu. A bit pricy for an everyday meal but for what it was, we felt the value was spot on!More

I opted for the 7 course tasting menu and lost count with the number of plates that cane past (9 I think) Each of the dishes was astounding witv excellent wine pairings. Perfect place if you want to try home made Norwegian food with a modern touch! I tried the 5 course menu with wine pairing and it was excellent. In reality they served me 7/8 dishes if we include the appetizers and sweets. They also had...7 and 9 course menus but in my opinion 5 was the perfect amount of food. All the products were very fresh and all the fish, meat and soups I tried where very tasty. The wine pairing was surprising because 2 of the wines were from the state of Washington but they were really good! Service was also excellent and they treated me very well. Make sure to make a reservation a few days before since they do not have a lot of tablesMore

Emma’s is very good. We had a multiple-course dinner that was outstanding. The wine we had was also very good as was the service. We highly recommend Emma’s.
