At Santos Wieden you are greeted by friendly staff and a chic interior. Reservations are highly recommended, as the restaurant was packed during the course of the evening (on a Monday).
And with good reason: the Quesadilla de Birria (I was too hungry to take a photo) tastes excellent and has just the right level of spiciness for European palates. The portion size could be a bit bigger, but together with a starter (I recommend Esquites) you are well fed. The menu doesn't overwhelm you with options, but is big enough that there is something for every taste.
I had the patience to take a photo of the cocktail, but it was gone quickly anyway. The Crimson Crush is a delight for people who like sweet things (especially during the long happy hour).
The service was quick, friendly and attentive all evening, the beers were poured correctly and the cocktails were lovingly prepared.
Conclusion: Perfect for an evening with friends or family!

Good. The place pretty well, the reception the same. For lunch we ordered fajitas and ramen. The fajitas were fine but I missed the Jews. The ramen had no taste and we didn’t even eat it, terrible; however they asked me for my opinion and I told them about the ramen that we didn’t like it, since we didn’t even eat it, we weren’t charged with it. A gesture they didn't have because of their goodness. Overall a good place, not traditional Mexican.

The best Mexican restaurant outside of Mexico that I have ever visited.
I would never have thought that in Europe – and especially in Vienna – you could find Mexican restaurants that are as good as the original. But Santos convinced me otherwise.
The selection is anything but small either – from the basics to regional specialties and everything in between, everything can be found on the menu.
And you should definitely come hungry; the portions are anything but small – no sign of inflation.
And anyone who thinks that all waiters in Vienna are unfriendly has never been to Santos. The staff are super friendly and really quick at serving, so you will never have to wait long for your food.
All of this and the beautiful interior of the restaurant make Santos the ideal place to go out to eat with friends.
P.S.: You can't miss the cocktails.

The food can be greatly improved. The burrito was accompanied by rice that tasted like nothing. The nachos didn't taste like anything either and came with corn that looked like it came straight out of a can without anything added.
Still, the worst of all was the treatment. As we were tourists, they charged us €6 for the service without letting us choose whether to tip or the amount. We feel very badly treated and cheated.

The Mexican restaurant Santos is in Vienna is a trendy place that is mainly frequented by young guests. The ambience is appealing and welcoming. The staff is friendly and competent. The food is fine overall, but it seems a bit expensive.

This was the final meal of our holiday in Vienna and it was quite terrible from start to finish.
For a start we had to wait ages to be served and when our starter of nachos arrived, they were overloaded with so much cheese, that we full up before we even received our mains.
The waiter then brought us our mains and took it back to the kitchen without any explanation, which we thought was a bit strange. He eventually came back to tell us the chicken for our fajitas looked raw and didn’t want to serve it to us (thank god). When our food eventually arrived 15 mins later, we had a load of chicken, but only 3 tortillas between the 2 of us. When we asked if we could have a couple more, the waiter told us we could have a few and wouldn’t charge us for them because of the raw chicken fiasco. We were disgusted that we would have to pay for more tortillas when so few were provided to begin with.
We didn’t really enjoy the main after being told about the raw chicken, everything being drenched in melted cheese and after all the waiting we were now in a rush to get to airport for our flight.
Somehow after all these mishaps the waiter still expected to be tipped, which we refused to give.
This restaurant was overpriced, with poor service and awful food. We wouldn’t come here again.

As a big fan of Mexican cuisine, I am enthusiastic about Santos Wieden! The menu offers a wide variety and has something for every taste. I would like to highlight the nachos and tacos – simply delicious and perfectly prepared! The margaritas are also first-class and contribute to the relaxed atmosphere. A very nice evening or rather a Christmas dinner with colleagues, really festive, delicious and nice.
I always like coming here, Santos simply has the best cocktails in all of Vienna, this time I was impressed by Espadín & Coco, complex, spicy and harmonious. Then it continued with Crimson Crush, berry-sweet and a rich taste, also highly recommended.
The food was excellent as always, as always I had Fajitas del Pollo (juicy meat, perfect level of spiciness... a delight!) but this time
without cheese. The portions are very large and the warm tortillas are served again, so you get more than full.

We had a delicious meal in this attractive restaurant!
Four different starters and entrees were enough for the two of us; so we could taste everything.
The service was very attentive and alert.
Unlike many other restaurants in Vienna, we were not outside within an hour: highly recommended :-)

If you want Mexican food, don’t come here as the truly revolting slop they offer bears no resemblance to Mexican cuisine. The nachos were served in a “bath” of some indescribable cheese (or cheese substitute), the burrito came in a very pedestrian stale cheap store bought tortilla & the service was agonisingly slow. The chicken fajita when it came, was then promptly whisked away because the waiter had to “check it had been cooked properly” - he thought it looked raw………
So to recap-tasteless bland food, possible raw chicken, stale tortillas & slow service, pricey for what it was and as a final salute the waiter was “put out” he didn’t receive a tip!
Do yourself a favour & just don’t eat here, it’s not a Mexican restaurant & that wasn’t Mexican food, save yourself time, money & your blood pressure & go eat anywhere else……..literally anywhere…..

Pub and bar hopping around the wonderful Wieden District my twin brother Steohen and I decided to drop into Santos Wieden I Mexican Bar & Grill,always had a great time here on previous holidays to Vienna and so it proved on our latest visit.
I love the look of this bar ,interior is superb ,an eye catching serving bar ,wonderful decor and furnishings and lots of seating options ,it's a great bar to chill out in .
We were here on a Friday night ,this bar was busy with a great vibe ,we were greeted and seated by a very pleasant member of staff ,we ordered beers and nachos ,beer was served freezing cold and after a short wait our nachos arrived and what a treat ,smothered in cheese and just what we needed,beer was iced cold and sparkling and all in all we had a great time before we moved on .
Santos Wieden I Mexican Grill & Bar is easy to locate along Favoritenstraße.
Opening hours are;
Monday to Sunday,open from 11am till late.
Well worth checking out if you're in the area.

We had been to a sister restaurant in April last year and the experience was great from ambiance to their delicious Mexican food. This time around we were not whaoed by the meal, it was not well seasoned, the fagita did not sizzle and generally wasn’t best experience. The waiter was good however seemed overwhelmed. It’s almost unspoken for Mexican restaurants to welcome you with a bowl of freshly made nachos however, this is not the case. Otherwise the ambiance is good and also the location of the restaurant is great.

We had no dinnerplan but was hungry after a late concert. Santos was the neatest option when other restaurants were closed. We had no expectation. But we were really happy about having the best food so far in Wien. My husband had a cheeseburger burger with really good fries, and my choice was a chicken burrito. All were served delicately and tasted very good. The straff also were really nice and made this experience a surprisingly good one😊👍

The most AMAZING Mexican food I have ever ever had! Amazing quality food (I had the beef tachos). The beef was perfectly cooked, so soft and tender. The staff were incredibly friendly, too. Danke, es war sehr lecker!!!

As a Mexico lover, I am an absolute fan of the restaurant. The menu offers a variety that has something for every taste. My highlight are the nachos and tacos.
