Excellent schnitzel! One of the best ever. We had a sausage with a soft pretzel as an appetizer. Taste of heaven!!

Apart from the great and cheerful atmosphere, they can make a great Tafelspitz (on which I am specialized in testing). What I like most about this place is that is combines modern style with old Viennese tradition. Service is just top and in comparison to other traditional Viennese guests houses, it's very spacious. You definately do not smell like food... More

We've had a very good Schnitzel and the staff was very friendly. Looks like a place more frequented by locals (always a good sign). Accepting dogs too. Nice place.

When your Austrian mother makes a very impressive Wiener Schnitzel then it's hard to compete but Figls could possible have surpassed it. Although there were many choices on the menu all of us had the Schnitzel (from pork - even though the traditional Wiener Schnitzel is from veal). The portion size is huge but the Schnitzel was cooked to perfection... More

Every time I come to Vienna my first visit is Fuglmuller or Figls. Never disappointed and always too full. Their schnitzel with potato salad are to die for. Great place with great service. Well worth the drive across town.

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
