We were staying in a nearby apartment and had breakfast and dinner here. The food and ambience are excellent. Booking is a must for dinner and even breakfast on Sundays (the place is that popular!). The menus are interesting (for both breakfast and dinner) and the food is of high quality and beautifully presented.

On our first day in Vienna we depserately tried to find a breakfast cafe. Shouldnt be too hard, right ? Its Vienna after all ! but it proved to be harder than expected... in the end, we accidently found this one, and it is so amazing that we went for breakfast every day, and a couple of times for lunch.... Had a marvelous experience there as summertime is still wonderfull in the City of Vienna. Ansari has a nice out side garden and the road in front has low traffic - so this is really phantastic to enjoy. The food is "cross-ethno" - Georgian kitchen with international influence - very tasty and the quality is good. They offer "sturgeon" and... More

We had just arrived in Vienna and were looking for somewhere to eat. This place was very busy but managed to get a table outside. (Thanks to a couple who were just finishing their coffee) Service was good considering how busy it was. I enjoyed a chicken wrap and my wife had an omelette with chicken and avocado. Good place... Came across this restaurant recommended in a guide and went there for breakfast. There is a good choice of breakfasts - I recommend the Georgian breakfast and the poached egg on bacon, spinach and brioche! We sat outside under the trees and liked it so much we came twice. There was no need to book for breakfast - both times... More

We tried first to come without booking... not possible even during the week. Nice atmosphere, pleasant service. The menu is original. Our starters were very nice. Main courses average and desserts were nice. Overall a nice experience.

The jazz playing in the background and the decor give this place very pleasant and relaxed ambience. The menu consists of Georgian and middle-eastern inspired food. We had surprisingly good khachapuri, chicken in walnut sauce, beef salad and tabbouleh. Everything was very tasty. They also offer a wide selection of wine and craft beers. The service is prompt and by... More

my opinion about a place was spoiled by absolutely ignorant staff. i was alone and they were too busy to watch if i needed anything. moreover, the attitude was arrogant even after i managed to call someone for multiple times (which is inappropriate!). i ordered my desert twice, and after they asked me for "anything else" i simply asked for... My daughter and I ate at Cafe Ansari last night, on a warm Viennese evening. All outside tables were taken or reserved, so booking may be advisable. Our seats just inside the door however still caught the breeze. The menu isn't extensive but is really interesting. I chose two appetisers: a fish dish and a salad, both with Georgian flavours.... The Cafe has got an extensive breakfast menu and the food was delicious. It is recommended that you book, especially if you want to sit outside underneath some big trees. The service was friendly and efficient, can only recommend it!

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
