We joined this restaurant for little family dinner and it was good decision. Beside interensting menu card, korean bbq, specialites from grill and delicious looking sushi, we enjoyed it wans't so crowded. Nice place for date, friends as well family meeting.

In korea, the korean bbq usually is done over a charcoal grill but here they use a portable gas grill. The meat tastes fresh and well marinated. The portions used to be bigger, these days, the portions are small. The tempura is very delicious, the batter is cripsy and the sauce very tasty. We enjoy going to Hanil's for dinner.

Really good one. With about 15 euros one can eat a good korean barbeque with a drink. I got the squid which comes with some vegetables, rice and kimchi. Portions are not huge and pay attention to the spicy dishes. All in all a good experience

A friend and I were just wandering around and went in to Hanil, as I am a huge fan of both Japanese and Korean food. There were no prices on the menu outside so I was a bit sceptical, and was in a 'I can just run away if it's too expensive' kind of mood, but when they gave us... More

Cosy, small place with fresh sushi selection. Unfortunately, no dumplings. But still can't loose with this one. Will come back

Every time we are in Vienna we visit the restaurant Hanil in the Gumpendorferstrasse. We start with a beer (no wine !) and order some sushi. Then we will switch to Korean dishes to share, some items to grill, a soup, vegetables. Sometimes we will ask for the same things the neighbours at the other table have (many Asians) just... More

This is a long standing asian restaurant in Vienna. Fresh sushi and maki as well as several japanese and korean dishes. You can enjoy bulgogi cooked at your table....good beef, well marinated. This is a small restaurant, often visited by asians which is always a good sign. Don't expect highlights but you can enjoy solid food to very reasonable prices.... More

Accidentally we found this korean restaurant. As hungry sushi-lovers we simply had to stop there, although it looked a bit scruffy from the outside. Inside it was full, what we took as a very good sign! We chose two sushi plates from the lunch specials. The portions were quite big, with different sushi variations and the price seemed pretty low.... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
