I could not resist its coffee smell. The desserts also were inviting, I ordered one Melfe and it was one of the best i tasted.

Icecream heaven 😍😍 Loved everything in the place, service is very fast and very fresh ingredients. I gave it 4 only as the waiter was very grumpy. A must visit if you are in vienna.

It was heaven on Earth! The portions are unbelievably large and cheap for their size. I actually got a full stomach by eating one ice-cream, which never happens! The lady that served us was great, very helpful and happy to serve us, although it took us a while to choose from all the variaties of ice! Definitely go there if... More

Service, Food and Atmosphere where all okay. The place has a nice variety and options of ice creams but the best part was the lactose free options for my boyfriend. I had the lemon and tangerine ice creams which where really good. There is a possibility of cross contamination though because my boyfriend's ice cream had traces of other ice... More

Each gelato flavour is distinctly delicious and the gelato is the ideal combination of smooth and luscious. You can even get affogatos where you choose any gelato with a shot of fresh expresso. For me, the gelati are a bit too sweet, but that's a personal preference.

This place compares to some of the best gelato places I have been to (think La Sorbetteria di Bologna, Dolci Gelati in DC or Gypsea Gelato in Hawaii). Excellent natural flavors with a nice thick consistency. I can highly recommend Maroni and Pistachio.

Paolo Bortolotti incredible ice cream on Mariahilferstrasse in Vienna. If someone would have told me I can eat ice cream in Vienna at least as good as in Rome, I would certainly not believe. No offense, Italy! You should try yourself and you will be convinced.

I am not picky about gelato, but this place blew me away! We had their basil flavour, and it is to die for. Very friendly servers as well. We try to make it back on every trip.

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
