Very good Chinese/Japonese restaurant in Vienna. Prices are ok for the food. I took a spicy noodle soup. My mouth is still burning... But very good food. To try if you want to eat late in the evening.

This is a fantastic place to grab a lunch or dinner. The business is always busy no matter what time of day or night, a testament to the great food. The staff are super friendly and the food is beautiful. I highly recommend a visit.

I planned a low key night in Vienna and selected this little Chinese/Japanese right at the subway station exit.Super friendly staff.I had dumplings and chicken on skewers for starters....grand portions ...could have stopped there...2 Kirin..appears to be loved by locals ...warm and welcome mid price joint.

The place is not that big and very well visited especially at noon, but the food is really good and the prices are low. The people there are actually chinese but as of these days many chinese Restaurants combine their food with japanese food which the japanese don't do, as far as i know. But still the food is japanese... More

Hitomi was always the place 2 go when you are at 8 th district and ready 4 some sushi cause you find it in middle of Josefstädter-Street. During the years, it has changed, now its just a small overcrowded student place, with long waiting time, even if you eat just a few makis. Beside they offer a take a way... More

Good point: food was served hot and fast. The beef tereyaki was not bad but a bit hard to chew. Bad point: staff (who are not at all Japanese) lacks rapport with customers. Felt like they are doing us a favor and not other way around. Will not go back if there are better restos around.

Nice place, friendly staff and good food. There is a huge selection of it, made by chinese, thai and japanese food. At dinner one can get a bento box with a selection of food for about 10 euros. It contained tofu and vegetables made in the wok, sushi, maki, springrolls, miso soup, salad, rice and lychee.

We stumbled across Hitomi whilst walking back to our hotel from the big wheel and we were so glad we went in. It does not look like much from the outside but the food is amazing and the price is even better. It is only a small cafe style place so do not expect a romantic top quality restaurant but... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
