If Vienna is no longer imperial capital it is a great capital of culinary republic. We recently enjoyed a vegan part of it. You may easily miss it behind the memorial to Viennese jewelry perished during WWII. Small and cozy, opened for breakfast, lunch and dinner, closed on Monday. Check the hours, because it also will be closed after lunch... More

We were headed for another resto, but were so glad to have stopped here instead. Very nice vibe & friendly service. The food was yummy-we had risotto with smoked tofu and chilli with tofu. The wine was also good. Definitely worth a try!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here - a lovely quiet spot for dining outside situated on a beautiful secluded lane-way. A number of the dishes here are the "faux-meat and potatoes" style which while not to everyone's liking, is quite enjoyable once in a while.

I am mostly vegan so love to try vegan and vegetarian places everywhere I travel. This place is very cute, located off a pedestrian street, and the lady who helped us provided fantastic service, very professional. Unfortunately the food did not live up to the rating, in my experience. I ordered the risotto and my husband ordered the weinershniztel. The... More

This restaurant was a surprise all around. I didn't expect to find a vegan friendly restaurant so close to the tourist center, especially one as unassuming as this one! Veggie restaurants often seem targeted to students but this felt like a traditional cafe that just happened to have animal friendly options. I was also surprised that this was a Austro-Croatian... We tried the vegetable stew as well as the antipasti plate, which were both delicious. Great to see so many vegan, down-to-earth choices. We'll come back to try more!

Nice and cozy place. The shnizel was great and the potato too. What else a vegeterian person can ask for

We were so glad to find a proper vegetarian place in Vienna! Delicious meals, friendly service and nice atmosphere. People who work there care about the place and vegetarianism itself.

We had vegan schnitzel and steak and it was unbelievably good. It's the kind of vegan meal that makes you feel warm and cozy inside and also let's get a sense of authentic Austrian food (but without the meat.) Go right now.

Found it by accident, left it well fed. Goulash was delicious and the cakes were awesome. Highly recommended.

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
