Great Place to see locals enjoying themselves. Food was ok , but the service was horrible - would not go back .

I just l;ove this sort of place. Its a bit like a pub meal in Britain, its sort of genuine with very genuine food which was excellent. Would be a great place to eat outside when the weather gets a bit warmer.

Arranged for my guests by my office, so really looking forward to it.It was busy so it must be good... No, the food was very basic and not good at all. My guests were most dissapointed , very frustrating for me.

Nice restaurant with authentic atmosphere and live Viennese music. Only complaint is that the goose was slightly dry. Otherwise food was also great.

Mayer am Pfarrplatz is an old traditional Heuriger with a lot of history (even Beethoven drank his wine here when composing his 9th Symphony). There are not so many tourists there. The quality of the food is good and the wine is excellent. They are friendly (except the lady who sells snacks), the atmosphere is good it is not so... More

My wife and I came here during a trip to Vienna visiting the Christmas markets. We made reservations here for a nice traditional sit-down dinner. We were not disappointed. There was an accordion player (we must have shown up toward the end of his first set... but he returned!). The food was excellent. My wife had the roast beef and... More

I could not eat here very night, the cuisine is quite heavy, but very very good and the atmosphere is really so typical of Vienna... I definitely recommend this place if you want to dive in the old Vienna atmosphere. The quality of the meat is really high and the home made wine very good as well, the apple strudel... More

This restaurant is clearly a great place to enjoy a summer evening, but it was also great for us in October. It was pumpkin (Kürbis) season and the menu featured pumpkin in every form, from soup, to quiche, to pumpkin encrusted pork medallions, to desert. We enjoyed the excellent new wine from the restaurant's own production. The service was pleasant... More

Description
The tradition-steeped "Mayer am Pfarrplatz" winery, the epitome of Viennese Heuriger culture, has been producing the best Viennese wines since 1683 in Heiligenstadt. In 1817, Ludwig van Beethoven lived in the romantic listed suburban home on Pfarrplatz. During his time in Heiligenstadt he worked on his greatest creation: Symphony No. 9.

Homemade spreads and sweet dishes, plus traditional Heuriger cuisine handed down through generations, coupled with new seasonal culinary delicacies, such as Mayer’s asparagus cordon bleu or onion roast made with organic beef, delight our guests and have also earned our "Mayer am Pfarrplatz" Heuriger AMA gastro accreditation.

The cosy premises; our sunny terrace under grape vines and walnut trees; and our original Viennese Heuriger music (every day from 7pm) make the "Mayer am Pfarrplatz" a truly unique experience. We have our own children's play area for our younger guests. Our snugs are ideal for celebrations with between 10 and 450 guests. We are very happy to give you an tailored quote, whether you want to celebrate a graduation, wedding or birthday.

Staying in Dobling

Neighbourhood Profile
Dobling
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
