This is a high class restaurant serving aside variety of food complete with well stocked cellar of fine wine. I had the rib eye steak - not cheap, but absolutely superb both in flavour and the way it was prepared. Be aware vegetable and fries etc are all extra.

On the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel we tried Artner. We enjoyed the outdoor seating and the nice wine selection. Food and service were both very, very good. Unusual in Vienna....we seemed to be the only tourists there...everyone else, judging by the waiter knowing exactly which drinks to bring them, appeared to be a regular. That says a... More

Visited 9 months after first visit (see earlier review) because this was one of the few places we had friendly service in Vienna. Still great service, friendly and helpful. Great food both for meat eaters and for other dishes. Even better wine list. 99% of other Viennese restaurants could learn so much from these guys. Reservations essential.

Nice food with nice environment. I could say that is better the atmosphere than the food but at the end you still satisfy

The waitress was incompetent and unfriendly. Almost arrogant. Wine and food was good but when I had to pay the bill, there was an extra € 6 for bread and butter. She said she was unable to translate that into English and told me it was a tax. I really felt like a stupid tourist and it really ruined the... More

We booked a table late as we were arriving in Vienna that evening but popped in two hours before to see if we could eat earlier and even though the restaurant was very busy, they could not have been more accommodating or welcoming. My spinach risotto starter was the tastiest I have ever eaten and my steak cooked to perfection.... More

Artner was recommended by our hotel. We weren't disappointed. The potato soup was delicious as was the carpaccio starter. For main we both had steak. The flank was very tasty although not as tender as hoped for. The fillet was excellent. Fries also good and chunky and the sherry dressing on the salad was delicious . We had a bottle... More

After being turned away from fully booked restaurants the center on a busy winter Saturday night, we ducked in to see if we could snag an early table and the friendly staff accommodated us and our two boys. The decor is modern an inviting - smells waiting from the kitchen appetizing. The menu leans heavily towards meat, their specialty. But... More

Great location, very nice place, good food, great wine list, but we felt it is a little bit pricy for the quality of the meat. We now about meat, been my partner an Argentinian, and what we asked for was not what we expected. But overall, a good experience.

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
