I have no idea what make it number one on the TripAdvisor cafe list in Vienna. Nothing special. The coffee was tasty, as in other places. The service was unwelcoming.

Climb to the second floor and have a perfect Cremeschnit and marzipan Cartoufle with coffee or tee in a baby doll house porcelain dish!

Cappuccino - nice mug, really bed coffee; Cake - you can find that quality at a supermarket for a far reasonable price; Prices - the only high point here; Crowd - literally nobody under 60.

This is a traditional coffee shop situated near the cathedral. The selection of cakes is huge and is a perfect pause in a long day spent walking around Vienna.

What else to do on a quick day trip to Vienna than sample the local specialities. On the main pedestrian street on Vienna, this seemingly small konditorei has a spacious upstairs cafe with a large selection of wonderful cakes and pastries. Hot chocolate laced with rum and large slices of Sachertorte (some infused with rum) and creamy cheescake were a... More

Situated near Stephansplatz this is perhaps the most representative of the Viennese coffee culture venue. Wide range of coffees and deserts served by serious (not smiling much) traditionally-dressed waitresses. Apfelstrudel (€3.70) Häferlkaffee (Viennese style coffee - €4.00) and Sachertorte (€3.80) are the recommended items.

Came here for apfelstrudel, ended up eating goulash (quite tasty), apfelstrudel (not the best one ever) and coffee (nice one). Interior is old fashioned, waitresses are also dressed in old fashioned dresses. Service is quite good.

We dropped in here to warm up with tea on a cold day. The first floor has the candy shop and the upstairs has a lovely, old world coffee shop. The service was great, the deserts were delicious, and best hot cocoa ever.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
