Came in off the street. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Lovely choice of food, the sirloin steak, roast potatoes and onions was delicious, the meat was incredibly tender.

We popped in for beers and stayed for some food. The first room where you enter allows smoking, and the room at the back is non smoking which was where we sat. Waiters and waitresses were friendly and helpful. Would definitely return would definitely recommend.

Came across this restaurant whilst out walking and decided to have dinner there. Was not disappointed. The food was delicious as was the beer served. The restaurant had many locals in dining which is also a good sign. Great value food served by pleasant staff could not fault it and would recommend it to anybody looking for a no frills... More

We went at the end of a long day of traveling. Staff were very friendly, we had the ribs, absolutely succulent and Huge! (We split them and still had some left over). Atmosphere is nice and quite relaxed. Very good choice if you want a casual, traditional Austrian meal.

I ate here twice during my 4 day stay in Vienna. I thought it was great. The menu is full of hearty Austrian/German food with good beer and coffee served on the side. It is traditional in its feel and decor and a great place to stop for a hot meal on a subzero day. The first time I went... More

We called in here on our last night in Vienna and we had the best meal by far in our 5 day visit. The spare ribs my husband ordered were succulent, really meaty and plentiful while the dish I ordered, consisting of pork, potatoes and onion, was absolutely delicious. The staff were really friendly and welcoming and were so pleased... More

We got ourselves a good dinner and a couple of glasses of red wine and beer... More

The lunchtime specials are good value. The rest of the menu is exactly the same as its sister establishment, the Bierhof in Haarhof, just round the corner. There's not really a lot to choose between them, but the Bierhof's Schanigarten is better.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
