Popped in for lunch (and a warm up) by chance. I drank a divine prosecco, set lunch menu pasta and my partner had the sausages, both superb. Menu is very game heavy, I don't eat game so it was limiting for me, but my pasta was the best I've ever eaten, really excellent. Service was super, prices fair, ambience traditional,... More

We chose a set menu consisting of pumpkin risotto, venison with mashed sweet potatoes and bacon beans and finally pancakes with apricot jam. The wine we chose was a bottle of Austrian Cabernet Sauvignon Steindorfer which was a good companion. Delicious food served promptly. Enjoyed it so much we came back the following evening and ate sirloin steak with onions... More

One word: WienerSchnitzel! Really loved the rustic, warm ambience of the restaurant. The service was great and did not disappoint us. Wunderbar! For starters we had veal sausages with onion sauce - sweeeet - and gulash - warm and tender! The Schnitzel was really, really good, I'm salivating just writing about it. It came with a delicious austrian potato-cucumber salad.... More

I love the way this restaurant prepares game meats and birds. They were on the menu last week and we enjoyed venison, duck, goose and lamb (not a game animal but was still very good). When the menu is mostly Austrian specialties (when game is out of season?), I pass by. Staff is good.

Had a wonderful late lunch here while touring the city on the Austrian National Day holiday. The place exudes old world charm; our meals were cooked to perfection and the beer was cold and tasty.

Loved this quaint little pub/restaurant on a side street in Vienna. We had wonderful sausages and local beer. Not a tourist trap. Oh--and the apple strudel was outstanding.

Food was tasty but the waiter made a comment asking for more tip as we were paying and then literally kicked us out "out, out!" Pretending the table was reserved for another group of people. This ended our originally good experience on a very sour note. Disappointing. Shame since the food was very good.

Being an avid veal schnitzel fan I wrote down a list of all the best schnitzel restaurants listed by tripadvisor travelers prior to my visit. This restaurant was not listed but was recommended by our hotel front desk on our first night. It turned out to be the best veal schnitzel we had - so good we had to go... More

Ignored for quite a while they catered to larger groups. As a result, we just wanted to order and didn't really get a chance to enjoy the dining experience. We each had beef broth soup with a liver dumpling. Delicious. One entree of viener schnitzel and one calf;'s liver. The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and served with a cucumber and... More

Very welcoming and a lovely atmosphere. Excellent service, by knowledgeable waiters and delicious food with extensive wine list,(if a little pricey.) Highly recommend.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
