Definitely a 'must do' venue in Innsbruck. Located in the centre of the old town, and tucked away without an outside eating area, but well worth the look inside. Staff were friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was great with some delicious local food. We thoroughly...More

A pleasant place with a friendly staff who welcomed us with great dishes. The idea of making a new menu everyday is refreshing and we definitely like it.

Our party of four were in Innsbruck for a short stay after a walking holiday. We chose to eat at Die Wilderin after reading the reviews on Tripadvisor. So glad we did - the best restaurant I've eaten in for a long time. Three of...More

Nice service ! There is a small and large portion. The large comes with two beefs. It is really big. A suggestion for a couple one big and one small is enough! Recommend!

We didn’t book and perhaps predictably, the smallish restaurant was full...almost! The extremely pleasant and helpful hosts found us a place on stools at the bar and fortunately explained the menu...in German only. The food here is sourced from local farmers with their names proudly...More

We enjoyed a delicious plate of puy lentils, spinach and wild sea bass washed down with an equally delicious glass of the wine. The menu is short and everything fresh. There was a choice of 2 desserts and we had one of each. Yum!

Although I can be sentimental about animals, this restaurant has the highest ethical attitudes towards food. They know where every animal comes from and the beasts do not die in vain, every part is used and thus the menu changes all the time. Both my...More

Innsbruck is full of tourist-led restaurants with very similar menus. This is different - has quite a long menu, and some unusual and regional dishes. Do not be put off by the German-only menu outside (though it is the same inside!) but the staff offer...More

The table two down from us loved this restaurant, so I am asking guests to not judge die Wilderin solely on my review. We arrived and sat that the bar - the bartender was great and introduced us to the range of whiskeys on offer...More

Dear Sparks2551, You are right, different strokes for different folks. It is unfortunate that you found our food i.e. meat tasteless, and you wished for more flavours. This is rightfully your opinion. We have a different one. We love our meat to taste of just...More

The €40 Shiraz was very good. Avoid the Flammkuchen - just a small over priced meat lovers pizza. The beef mains and the lamb mains were tasteless. We didn’t say anything in front of the other guests but reserved our comments discreetly for the waitress...More

Description
die Wilderin offers modern and yet traditional alpine cuisine. All produce used is sourced directly at local farmers and producers in adherence with seasonal offerings - only what is available at any given moment in time will find its way into die Wilderin's kitchen and onto the plates. Animals are bought as a whole and used that way - meaning, whatever a whole animal can offer on different cuts will be offered. No more, no less. die Wilderin's team is by no means perfect but we are all trying hard, love our jobs and hope our guests take the plunge with us - it's a hell of a ride.
