Great to start apart from the over-familiarisation of the waiter sitting next to us to describe our food. No table to begin with and then a table was found for us despite not booking. A long wait between starter and main course and then when...More

I arrived at the start of the evening rush on a Friday...worst possible time for the staff. I had no reservation. I asked for a table for one. They offered a seat at the bar, or upstairs in a sofa table. I took the bar....More

We were seated upstairs at the small tables because we didn't make a reservation. This was no problem for us. We had pork and flammkuchen as maindishes and a fantastic bottle of red wine (Syrah, Austrian wine, 40 euro). The food was really nice, although...More

We were warmly welcomed to the restaurant by the charismatic staff, offering an array of locally sourced dishes. It was a meat heavy sort of place, so possibly best avoided by veggies (you'd be missing out there if you couldn't have the full choice). All...More

The menu in this centrally located restaurant may not be immediately to one’s liking but the local dishes come as a pleasant surprise – prepared very nicely, from excellent ingredients. Nice wines by the glass.

Die Wilderin is really amazing. It is underpinned by very strong principles- eating meat carefully and thoughtfully, always using the best local ingredients, supporting local producers and meals as important shared experiences. All this, and the food is delicious too. This is the pefect place...More

We emailed in advance to reserve a spot as al the reviews we read suggested it would be busy. The response was quick and reserved us some seats at the bar. We arrived to a friendly greeting and were helped with the menu (it is...More

This was hands down our favourite restaurant in Austria. We enjoyed our dinner so much we came back the second night (and we stayed in Innsbruck for only 2 nights). We chose this restaurant based on the TA reviews. I emailed the restaurant beforehand to...More

We had booked dinner at Die Wilderin for the 14th Jan. We loved the atmosphere as soon as we arrived and were told that we had a table reserved on the first floor and we waited no time at all to be served. The service...More

We decided to go to this restaurant after reading all the positive reviews on TripAdvisor. When we got in there was the first disappointment: as in my opinion it isn’t atmospheric at all, as it has no windows and has a somewhat claustrophobic feel. The...More

Description
die Wilderin offers modern and yet traditional alpine cuisine. All produce used is sourced directly at local farmers and producers in adherence with seasonal offerings - only what is available at any given moment in time will find its way into die Wilderin's kitchen and onto the plates. Animals are bought as a whole and used that way - meaning, whatever a whole animal can offer on different cuts will be offered. No more, no less. die Wilderin's team is by no means perfect but we are all trying hard, love our jobs and hope our guests take the plunge with us - it's a hell of a ride.
