We had been looking forward to our dinner at Das Schindler for months given all the great reviews. The experience did not live up to the expectations. All the dishes we had for our 3-course dinner were truly outstanding. The cooking was creative and delivered...to perfection. The presentation was very good. The choice of wines was excellent. The let down was the service and time management: first we waited for 10 plus minutes to order our "pre dinner Champagne", then it arrived only seconds before our first course - together with bread and olive oil. We were completely rushed and could not enjoy the first course nor the champagne nor the atmosphere; and we were on track of finishing our 3 course meal in record time, if we had not stopped the flow. Not a nice and relaxed dinner, where one can enjoy the quality of the ingredients and the cooking, and not what I expect from a EUR 250.00 meal for two. We were disappointed but will give it another try in the future hoping for a more well-rounded experience.More

Amazing food and really beautiful atmosphere. The only issue is that the menu is in Austrian and not available in English. However staff were helpful and friendly. Can be a little bit more attentive but overall very pleased and satisfied.

A delightful restaurant with a good range of really high quality food, plus a good wine list. The service was first class. Highly recommended.

Having done a long drive from Stresa in Italy and arriving a little late the receptionist at Stage 12 Hotel suggested we dine at Das Schindler. Having spent a number of weeks enjoying Italian food and being our first visit to Austria we went traditional...and had the Weiner Schnitzel (which they offer in two sizes). Totally retro and enjoyable. Very pleasant dining experience.More

Das Schindler was our choice for dining on our first evening at Innsbruck. We were not disappointed. Great choice on the menu, not a lot dishes but very wide variety to choose from even for vegetarians. Food quality was excellent and all was cooked to...perfection. We had Negroni for aperitif, bread basket with high quality olive oil was brought to our table (beware, you will be charged for this even though you don't ask for it) which we enjoyed. We had 3 course dinner and we were happy with everything. Portions were even bigger than expected for this type of restaurant. They also have extensive wine list and we tried two bottles of red and finished it all with flavored shots. We had great evening. There were only couple negatives. Service was a bit off. Friendly but stiff. We did not make a good first impression because when shown to a table we asked to be moved to different one. Reason being, first table was too close to glass sliding door between restaurant and bar. And strangely for us, people can still smoke there. We were then seated as far from bar as possible which we preferred. I really hope one day there will be smoke free restaurants also in Austria. Glass door is just not sufficient to keep smoke away from dining customers.More

Quite formal. We had great seats. Unfortunately smoke wafted through from bar. I had scallops which were slightly chewy. Not melt in the mouth style. Had duck for main which was nice. Didn't enjoy the pistachio cake. Pretty expensive - didnt enjoy food as much...as could have. Service was particularly good at beginning of meal. Wine was lovely. Olive oil salt and bread was yummyMore

We liked Das Schindler. It’s centrally located in one of the main shopping streets of the Old Town and has a real air of confidence about it. Although we went on a Monday evening, it was packed and buzzy. The service was efficient and friendly,...the prices mid-range, and the quality of the food really excellent. Another aspect that pleased us was that, although the wine list has some very expensive bottles, it also has some very good value ones. We had a white Gruner Veltliner, which was just right. This is a smart restaurant, which knows what it is about, and really delivers.More

This place is a real find in Innsbruck. We went for a casual Thursday evening dinner and were pleasantly surprised. Firstly, the ambience is perfect. The decor, the lighting, the noise (not overwhelming but warm and inviting) and the relatively small size of the restaurant...make it a very enjoyable place to spend an evening. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was really well prepared and very seasonal, with lots of local produce on the menu. The wine list offered a good range of great quality local wines as well as some higher end international wines. There is a bar connected to the restaurant by a glass partition, making this the perfect place for an aperitif before dinner or a few digestifs after. Price range is at the upper end, but worth the money if you revere quality. All in all, a great place to visit.More
