Sternbrau serves traditional Austrian and Bavarian meals. The price is fair for a restaurant in Salzburg city center. There is also a special Menu for kids, with a little crossword puzzle on the back side. The right solution of the crossword gives a hint to...More

Wonderful courtyard dining, but bad case of flies made it uncomfortable. Food was ok but nothing special. Service was also ok, but I am used to U.S. attentiveness and these waiters sort of ignored us.

My friend took me here for lunch and just after we settled down on a table, a bus load of tourists arrived. We moved tables. Nevertheless the service was excellent and we were attended to straight away. The menu was mostly traditional Austrian but there...More

Nice garden but basic Mass tourism Food. Nice place to have a Beer in the Tree shadow. Centrale located.

We have been there two or three times, because it has a very good location in the city and both a bar and a restaurant part. But the experience was always the same: the foods and drinks were okay, as well as the price, but...More

We went there for lunch. It was hot and sunny so we eat outside which was ok. I had a vegetable strudel which looked and tasted like it came out of a box. The outer crust was definitely not flaky but very soggy. With all...More

Came here for lunch. The weather was nice so we sat in the beer garden. The location is brilliant near the river in the old town. They serve a variety of generic food on the menu although acceptable quality they are quite average. The sussage...More

We were with a tour group of about 100 people so we had a set menu which I have no problem with, but the roast pork was like trying to cut an old boot it was so tough, and from the bit I tasted I...More

It is wonderful, a beergarten under the trees, good food (veal sausages and fantastic sourcraut), and great drinks all for very reasonable prices... it's hard to get up and leave, just one more Kizer Spritzer or Radler (beer mixed with lemon soda).

Description
The "Sternbrau" is located right in the middle of the Old City of Salzburg, next to the world-famous Getreidegasse and Mozart's birthplace. Since 1542, the "Sternbrau" step by step has become the biggest and most popular traditional beer inn of Salzburg. Since October of 2014, the whole restaurant complex is fully renovated and now offers an outstanding variety of eleven halls and parlours with a unique mixture of tradition and modernity. We serve typical Austrian cuisine with a modern twist, our home-brewed unfiltered beer and our own Austrian red and white wine.
