As we are only staying, 5 minutes walk away from here, we thought we should try it. We weren't disappointed. We are not big eaters, so having small tastes of different foods, was wonderful. You can have as many as you like and when you are getting full, just tell them to stop. A litre of home made red wine,... More

On first impression as you walk in the door the restaurant does not look that inviting but hold on the food and the service was fantastic. Do have the home made white wine with your meal, and as for the food it's none stop until you say stop and its very good quality and home grown and well serviced.

We really looked forward to eating here and chose the lamb on a bed of peas from the ten or so choices offered on the blackboard. It was OK. The roadwork noise didn,t help. The service was just OK.

We found this wonderful place through blogs and old reviews: it did not disappoint, but don't come here if you are looking for a quick meal. From the minute we made contact, booking through Facebook, we received supreme warm, friendly service. This is a family run business and we were treated by Ben, whose English is impeccable. From the very... More

Possibly the nicest food I have ever had. Staff were very knowledgeable about the area and food. Food and drink was local and picked by the father. Can't recommend it enough. It's just outside of the towm but well worth the visit. Only complaint is I couldn't try the homemade wine as I was driving.

This astonishingly bona fide taverna has got better over the last 15 or so years that I chanced it (4 or 5 times within that span). There's no menu, and neither do you order your own choices so be prepared to yield to this indulgence by the set menu prearranged by the season's produce, and as everyone should know already,... ...no menu option (at least for lunch). Good food and friendly service but lunch was meze or nothing. Since we had taken an already-departed taxi, we had meze. Good food and plenty of it but some in our group would have preferred a choice...so be warned.. meze or the highway!

Excellent ambiance and friendly welcome. They keep bringing excellent seasonal dishes until you are defeated. Must do. Should ring to book beforehand.

Seriously. Best. Ever. A cab ride away from hotels and worth the trip. Not knowing what the next dish will be is an experience in itself.

Description
It should be noticed that the establishment is a very traditional one, in more ways than appearance. It is an old building of stone and wood. The two dining rooms are decorated with antiques and items from the old household of rural Cyprus. The garden is very pleasant with flowers and herbs growing all around it.

The food is traditional and seasonal. We cook everything that can grow in Cyprus, basing a lot of our food on traditional dishes, and wild vegetables, picked by ourselves. We serve Meze, which traditionally means delicate taste, and in Cyprus it is used to mean a variety of delicacies. A typical meze at the 7 St Georges will start with salad and between 6-10 appetizers, this will differ every night but may include, homegrown olives, cured meats, dips and pickles. The meze will continue with a variety of traditional and some times contemporary meat and vegetable dishes. We use only the best meats to provide mouthwatering roasts and succulent casseroles, you can expect to enjoy our now well known Kleftico (lamb or beef on the bone cooked in sealed ovens, succulent) and a vegetarians delight of vegetable dishes, depending on the season they will include, rice stuffed marrow flowers, bumyas (ochra) cooked in a tomato and mint sauce, black eyed beans with home grown marrow, tomato fritters, cheese and vegetable pies. The meze will be about 20 dishes, depending how much one can eat, expect to be surprised and delighted at the array of dishes that will be brought to you over the meal (expect to be eating for about 2 hours), at the 7 St Georges we serve quality food in an informal and comfortable setting, take your time and enjoy the experience.
