What a really fascinating restaurant. Rampila is located in the tunnel that joins the two cavaliers in Valletta. We were not expecting a lot because it was the only good restaurant open on St Joseph's Day, and it wasn't on the list we had put together based on reviews and friends. What a really pleasant surprise it was. The entree... More

We visited on a cool March evening, so no terrace for us, but it looked a great location for lunch or later in the year for dinner. The fish soup was absolutely spot-on. The men in the party chose the rib of beef for their main which was perfectly cooked. We also tried the sea bass fillets, which were well... More

Unusual but historic setting. In March an inside table suggested as cool on terrace in evening. Terrace would be great for lunch though with a bit of sun! Service and food were very good and would certainly visit again.

When you first see this restaurant from the bridge to Valletta Old Town, you get amazed how cosy this place looks, and then you get curious how you can actually get there. We had been watching it for a couple of days before we actually started asking the locals how to find the way. And once we knew, went there... More

Very interesting location with vaulted ceilings carved in rocks. A good choice of both Mediteranean and European food and a welcoming staff.

Quite a small cosy restaurant a little away from the Main Street. Food was good. Highlights were the baked avocado starter and the light as air tiramisu for dessert.

Booked this restaurant for our 50th anniversary. I wanted a place to celebrate our special day and was not disappointed, this place is unique in it's setting within the walls of valletta. You are made to feel welcomed as soon as you walk through the door and most important is you are not rushed , the staff where very helpful... More

Lovely vaulted stone ceilings leading to a partially enclosed walled exterior terrace dining area. Good choice of all Mediterranean and European food. Well prepared and well served to a very good standard.

This restaurant was highly recommended and we made a reservation for Sunday evening. The place is unique inside, oozing history but it just did not do it for me as a restaurant setting. The bar had a foisty smell, understandable as we were in an old tunnel but not what one wants for pre dinner drinks. The tables in the... More

If you are staying in Valetta then this is a must visit restaurant. Great food, great service and try the Maltese wine, you will not be disappointed. Great ambience, great low key music. You will not be disappointed.
