Bought a couple of pastizzi this morning: one with peas and one with anchovies. The pastry was too oily, wet and soggy. The anchovies filling was too salty to eat. I threw both of them away. Disgusting. Avoid.

I had in mind that is Serkin was one of the best places to eat a genuine Maltese cheesecake. Went there last Wednesday but was really disappointed. The cheesecakes were literally dripping oil or lard or whatever was in the pastry. Unfortunately it would have...been better if the shop remained the same old 'hanut tal kafe' because with its modernisation and expansion it saw the downfall of its noteworthy cheesecake. Apart from this people were not following the covid 19 regulations as there were more than 2 people inside the shop and no one told them anything.More

4 pastizzi + 2 beers: 5 € Pastizzi are served directly from the owen, the ricotta ones are great. You can either take away or eat on tables in front of the bar.

Went there after recommendation by a Maltese friend who told me that it was the best pastizzi in Malta. So, we stood in the queue.... I spotted a TripAdvisor Certificate hanging in a frame on the wall. The owner was Maltese but had two Indian...assistants serving too. As our turn came we asked for 7 Chicken and 7 Ricotta. The Indian assistant, first pulled out the freshly baked ricotta pastizzi. Then the chicken one was already there. I saw 2-3 overcooked/burnt pastizzi at the front of the tray. He then filled 3 chicken pastizzis from the back of the tray then put 2 burnt one from the front, then put 2 from back again. Now... A) I was watching him. B) Maybe he saw a colored person and thought "what would this guy know burnt or not burnt pastizzi". As soon as he turned around, I said "I dont want the burnt ones you put in there". He quickly turned around and removed the burnt placing them back on the front of the tray to give it to another foreigner or drunk person and putting some from the back of the tray. When he gave me the bag, pointing at the Tripadvisor certificate onthe wall I said "With that kind of certificate from TripAdvisor, you shouldnt be putting those burnt one in anybody's bag!". He said "What?". I said "Have a little respect for your name" and I walked out. So, WATCH OUT CUSTOMERS.... They might slide you a bitter burnt pastizzi in your bag at your expense. I found it sneaky and off putting and I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO SNEAKY SHOPS LIKE THIS THAT, I GUARANTEE YOU, WILL LOSE ITS CROWN SOONER THAN THEY THINK. Also, their pastizzi were horribly chewy and harsh on the mouth as if over done or reheated in oven. The chicken pastizzi was simply CHICKEN FLAVOURED ONION GRAVY FLAVOUR... NO CHUNKS OF CHICKEN FOUND IN ANY OF MY 7 PIECES. NICE BUT NO CHICKEN... JUST ONIONS. Like I said: Go there but be alert.More

They are the best pastizzis. We were taken there by a local and were told they were the best in the country. Yes they were. Chicken and cheese were our favourites.

Heard about this place and couldn't wait to try it out. Boy, it was and is amazing. Pastizzi with cheese and peas are awesome but for me qassatat with cheese or anchovies is the real deal. It's so good and unbelievably tasty. My kid loves...the cheese pastizzi.More

Was in Malta for a week, ate pastizzis at 3-4 different places but these were THE BEST by some way. Sat outside with the locals on a hot friday lunchtime, soaking up the flavours of Rabat, highlight of the week.

I'm usually a bit sceptical of places with lots of reviews because i think the tourists flock to the safe bets but this was an expection. Fantastic! Pastizzi and Qassatat baked fresh every day! Delicious and so cheap. SO tasty in fact that we immediately...went back for seconds.More

The place was full of local people which makes great local atmosphere. The food was fresh, cheap and really good. We also recommend to take a tea :)

This is really authentic local place to get the delicious pastizzi. Our favourite was the chicken which came piping hot from the trays in the oven. They seem to sell out as soon as they are ready which is not surprising. At only 50 cents...each, with a drinks at 50 cents too you can feast here for very little!More

There was nothing mentioned on the price list so I doubt it. This seems to be a very traditional establishment and not in keeping with more modern trends.

Think it is pretty much 24/7. Weekends folk come here for a snack after clubbing in early hours.😂
