This is a real local "Mans"hangout not good for anything else other than walking in buying some of their delicious Pastizzi at an amazing 30cents each and taking them somewhere else to enjoy. Don't get me wrong although you are stared at by the various maltese "Rab C Nesbitt types,it's in a friendly way. Open late this tiny cafe is... More

All the locals who've heard I was going to Rabat told me to try the pastizzi in the Crystal Palace. It looks like a tiny, remotely sketchy bodega, with old men sitting outside, smoking and drinking Kinnie soda - but inside in the always-working stone oven lie excellent pastries. These are not for the health obsessed - the Pastizzi pastries... More

I used to stoop by this shop every morning before I catch my bus to school. Their pastizzi are my favorite on the Maltese islands, the best.

This place was recommended to me by a Maltese friend who said they have the best pastizzi on the island, and he was not wrong! Delicious, and cheap too! It's very "local" and not somewhere you would go for fine dining, but get a couple of pastizzis, pull up a chair (or get them to take away and eat them... More

OK its a little shabby and comes across as a 'local place for local people' but Crystal Palace sells the best pastizzis on the island at an amazing 30 cents each. Wash a couple down with a cold Minnie for the real taste of Malta and the Maltese.

This is a must every time i go to Rabat or Mdina, a quick stop by this place for a couple of pastizzi either to eat there or bring outside and sit on one of the benches.

The crystal palace or as its known in rabat as is serkin is a typical maltese traditional bar where one drinks tea or coffee out of the glass.Tea is made in the huge urn the old fashioned way. There cheesecakes or as we say in maltese pastizzi are fresh round the clock practically 24hrs a day since this bar does not...
