I chose this restaurant based on tripadvisor ratings and as always, it is never wrong. Employees work very hard to make you feel special. The food is very tasty and the micro greens used are very fresh. It is a quality, tasteful and elegant restaurant...in every aspect. I left very happy. I am sure you will like it too.More

Nice staff who were all young and polite. Unfortunately the chef clearly doesn’t know how to cook, even the basics. Steak tartare was a tough cut, sliced into large lumps, some inedible as they were so chewy. Biggest issue was the fact there was zero...salt and pepper used, let alone any further seasoning normally used in a tartare. Fish soup tasted like tinned tomato’s warmed up, the lamb was like my mums Easter dinner leftovers, tough, dry, bland. Lots of other delicious options nearby, go to them.More

A lovely place inside the city walls. The food was very good, the service friendly and prices were reasonable. A number of Knights of Malta wandered in with banners and instruments during dinner an one or two groups went up stairs for some festivities on...the walls. A fun place and very nice dinner.More

Visited this restaurant after a long day of exploring Rabat and Mdina. Service was very good and great hospitality. Additional side dishes and started of fresh breads and hummus was a lovely touch. We had seabream and Truffle Fusili - both were excellent ! Thanks...for an overall wonderful experience!More

This should be rated no. 1 on the list! Beautiful restaurant with a garden seating surrounded by greenery (i suggest requesting to sit outdoors). The food on the menu is very limited, you only have a few dishes to select from, but their service and...ambiance is amazing! We always visit more than once..definately worth it.More

Great food and wonderful service - just be careful of the catch of the day which can be pricey and they don’t tell you in advance. ( 4x anything else on the menu. ) However, the food was beautiful and great service in a really...beautiful setting so I would recommend a visit.More

We were married in The Secret Garden, a fabulous day from beginning to end. Beautifully decorated, delicious food and drink. The day ran smoothly, thanks to The Bacchus team. From the first meeting at the venue and then email correspondence from the UK, we were...put at ease and all questions/queries answered, we had complete trust in the team. All guests had a fabulous time and we highly recommend holding your event/wedding at this venue. We returned for a meal as a married couple a few days later and the meal was beautiful, we were greeted warmly by staff, managing director and family who were having an evening meal together. We are very much looking forward to visiting again on our next visit to Malta. Thank you once again ❤.More

Quality ok, taste average.extremely slow service(90mins to serve) although not more than 4 tables to serve. Very small portions(pasta plate only 5 pcs, bolognese doughnut not even enough to try and Guinea Fowl very little) prices high.staff friendly, inside deco & music nice. Overall not...value for money.More

After a tour of Mdina we were looking for somewhere to have an early evening drink and dinner. We chose Bacchus - how can you go wrong with a name like that? We walked in and waited - the waiter setting tables ignored us for...a few moments and then curtly asked what we wanted. We replied and despite the restaurant and bar both being empty, seated us at one of the two tables in the entrance lobby. By the time he came to take our order we had already decided the atmosphere was so unwelcoming that we would have only one glass of wine and then leave. We were abruptly told that only the house wine was available by the glass. Two glasses of Cabernet duly arrived - it had a strong taste of vinegar, to the extent that my wife decided it was undrinkable and sent it back. I'm a bit less fussy so decided to persevere - in due course I was rewarded when the notes of vinegar subsided - unfortunately they turned into notes of anchovy (a Maltese speciality). Expecting an argument when paying the bill they charged for only one glass (at EUR4 it was less than expected but more than the wine was worth). I departed with a glow (albeit a slightly fishy one). The over-riding impression we left with was that if we had been part of the Mdina families (the upper class former rulers of Malta that largely occupy Mdina), rather than tourists, then our welcome would have been a lot more expansive and warm. As it was, we were treated with what felt like contempt and disdain.More

What a wonderful restaurant in a beautiful old building, oozing character and ambiance.. the focaccia, although a little expensive were delicious... cooked to perfection. I had the House-cured Bresaola, which I would highly recommend..... prices are "robust" however for the quality and setting right in...the centre of Mdina are acceptable. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very efficient. In summary, wonderful restaurant, great staff and full of ambiance...More
