We normally read reviews before going to a restaurant but in this case we saw this place and liked the look and feel of it. We were not disappointed as the Maltese sharing platter we ordered was delicious and there was plenty of it. The service, ambience and wine were all excellent and we would highly recommend this restaurant

Nice place in old town in Mdina. Drinks plus food. Small, 2-level restaurant. Good for a short stop while visiting Mdina.

Set in a quiet square, off the main drag, Don Mesquita looks the part from the outside. The inside upholds the promise. We lunched in the basement - care required to negotiate the narrow stone staircase - and thoroughly enjoyed a Maltese platter with a glass of local wine. In the evening I can only imagine it would have been... More

A little gem of a restaurant in Mdina with a very small seating area outside. They serve traditional malteze sharing platers. Prices are comensurate with what other places in the area charge. They also have free wi-fi

There are quite a few places to eat in Mdina, some of them quite expensive. I think we found the best, very reasonably priced unpretentious place. The Greek platter and seafood platters were fantastic, and the staff very friendly and helpful. €14 for a nice chilled bottle of wine was also very fair for a restaurant. I'd certainly recommend this... More

Popped in for lunch and it appeared full. But the narrow staircase down to the basement revealed much more space and a good eating area, and it was nice a cool. Staff were excellent and very fit from going up and down stairs all day long. We only had a couple of pizzas and beers etc but the menu was... More

Quaint little coffee shop that has character. Serves apple pie and tea too. Worth the visit but be warned tables are very close together.

We were visiting Mdina and stopped for drinks and a coffee. Apparently homemade tasty cakes. The service was friendly and efficient. Toilets were clean, and prices average.

We called here for a hot chocolate during a visit to Mdina in February 2017. We had got really cold, the wind was blowing, the cathedral and museum were really cold and we needed to warm up. It was about 1.45pm. We were made to feel very unwelcome because we only ordered a drink. The waitress said, is that all,... More

We did a walking tour of Rabat and Mdina. Mdina in particular is fantastic. During the tour we noticed the Don Mesquita and decided to return there for lunch. The service was excellent and our food, a Maltese Platter was brilliant. To serve two it was a mixed salad with Maltese sausage and cheese, tuna and stuffed olives. Don't be put... More
