Not what I expected, but was recommended to go and glad we did. I’ve had good and expensive tapas all over the world and this is the best I’ve had had away from Spain. Can’t fault food or service. For Iceland I think it was...More

Incredible restaurant and experience. Icelandic Gourmet menu was excellent value for money- we were absolutely stuffed! I did not expect the food to be so beautifully presented. It tasted delicious. Service was fantastic- friendly and efficient. Would thoroughly recommend this to any tourist wanting a...More

This restaurant came highly recommended and we left it until our last night to sample. The restaurant was busy with locals and tourists which we find is always a good sign. There is an extensive menu, the vegetarian option was a little disappointing however the...More

I arrived here with my partner today in a bit of a frantic rush as our tour had overrun and we only had 40 minutes to find somewhere and eat. The waitress who greeted us was brilliant, and advised us on the food we could...More

Reservations recommended as the weekends get packed. This is a classic tapas place. Food was great and the service was there to match. They even had acceptable wines (in the event you are a wine person)!

We came here for our 15th anniversary (trying hard to pick a restaurant suitable for the occasion). We were definitely not disappointed. Being a bit frustrated by the prices for food thus far in Iceland (think $15 for a crappy burger with no fries or...More

We came here on a Friday evening and it was very busy but staff were great! We had lots of different tapas and really enjoyed them although I think the meat tapas were much better than the seafood tapas. The baked langoustines were rather dry...More

First impression of this tucked away below street-level jewel: Warm, red-lit, boisterous yet not overly loud, and the perfect choice for our date-night splurge on an otherwise budget conscious trip. As a celiac who's extremely sensitive to cross contamination, I research restaurants in advance (it's...More

Not being part of the restaurant staff I could not answer your question, but I am sure that an e-mail from their web site would solve this issue

Description
TapasBarinn is an extremely lively restaurant where Spanish tapas tradition meets the freshest Icelandic ingredients. It is located in a cellar at Vesturgata 3 in Reykjavik's central. The menu at TapasBarinn offers over 50 different meat, fish and vegetable dishes so you can take your time and experiment various flavour combinations. A must try is the Icelandic gourmet feast which is a great way to taste the best of Icelandic produce in one meal. The restaurant has been open since the year 2000 and has become a local favourite. It has the only kitchen in Reykjavík that is open 23:30 on weekdays and 01:00 on weekends. The breezy atmosphere and the Spanish effects in the decorations make TapasBarinn ideal for an enjoyable evening, a true ray of sunshine in downtown Reykjavík.
