We visited the restaurant a bit early in the evening (18:30) so we were basically alone. We almost thought about leaving but since our guide had recommended the restaurant we decided to stay. Best decision ever. We ate lobster soup and beef carapaccio as starters and fish & chips and a vegetarian dish as main courses. The food was excellently... More

Food was very tasty. Nice and calm atmosphere. Prices are ok for Iceland. Unfortunately very unfriendly waiter.

Bearing in mind that eating out in Reykjavik can be a very pricey experience for even your average meal it was such a pleasant surprise to find this place. The staff were very helpful and showed us to a table. The atmosphere was great. Nice jazzy kinda vibe to the music. Clean tables and decor but most enjoyable, the food.... More

TripAdvisor ranks MAR as one of the best in Iceland. With that e pe tatiin we were mildly disappointed. The food was good but not great. Ling and langoustines was only luke warm and drowned in sauce. Fish and chips was good but the chips seemed frozen pre-cut.

The catch of the day was fabulous !! Set in the harbour of the 101 district. After a great meal you can take a lovely walk in the harbour with views of Harpa. Service is fast and excellent with great recommendations.

We had local Fish & Chips here with a 15% off voucher that we were handed earlier in the day. Very tasty, our waitress was very polite & curtseous but we were the only people eating there so not much atmosphere.

We searched for something local near the piers to dine at before the night tour of Northern Lights. This came up and emails began. Very nice correspondence and info about the boats and location. Pleasant when had to reschedule due to boat cancellation from weather. Local food, really great. Fried Ling fish, amazing. Bread so good.

It was one of those semi-desperate moments when you are trying to come up with a lunch place to please everyone so you instead choose a place that pleases no one. This restaurant is modern and vaguely attractive, but while it is within the old harbor, there are no views from the restaurant. We were one of three tables in... More

Had 4 beers (2 each) - stark interior with drab views over the main road running along the port. Nothing wrong with the service - polite etc and the barman let me taste a beer before deciding to buy but at close to £10 a glass I don't think that's unreasonable. When we had our second glass we asked for... More
