After an afternoon of visiting sights, a visit to Mokka was a delight. The cappuccino was delicious and the waffle with fresh whipped Icelandic cream a wonderful delight!

We were advised to go here by our food tour guide. The atmosphere was laid back with a retro feel, definitely not portentous. We ordered americanos which were both good. The waffles looked great.

I stopped here twice while traveling around town. Great coffee and cakes/pastries. Cool atmosphere and it wasn't all tourists, which I liked.

Great place to socialise as there is no internet, the location is great as well as the interior. Bergrún makes the best coffee!

We wanted something light to eat before we headed to the airport. I read that this cafe offers good waffles, so decided to give it a try. And it didn't disappoint. The waffle had a nice golden color and a somewhat crunchy texture. It went well with a cup of latte!

Like anything in central Reykjavik, this is expensive - likely over 1000kr for a couple of coffees of any sort and that again for a bun. I enjoyed the atmosphere, however, and it has a delightful smell of sweet stuff! If you have had a busy morning, this is a delightful pre-lunch spot.

I don't have a big sweet tooth but decided to try a hot chocolate here to warm up from the chilly reykjavik weather. It was amazing! Tasted really salty and nutty and chocolately - not too sweet but really moreish! I tried a hot chocolate elsewhere the next day hoping it was 'the Icelandic way' but turns out Mokka Kaffi... More

We stopped in here just to rest from touring over a nice cup of tea; it turned out to be a very nice experience in what is apparently a beloved tea stop in Reykjavik. It is cozy and furnished like you are about to sip your tea and eat your cake under the eye of a beloved auntie--the ladies behind... More

We were tired of the hotel breakfast so we ventured out for a good waffle and a cappuccino. We were not disappointed. There are not a lot of seats here but we found 2 and enjoyed a cozy breakfast before starting our day. Highly recommend!!

An Icelandic tradition since 1958. Mokka is one of Reykjavik's oldest cafés and the first to install an espresso machine and serve espresso, cappuccino, and café latte in Iceland. There's a tempting selection of sandwitches, cakes, and the coffee and hot chocolate are excllent with their famous house waffles, served with cream and jam. The déckor - red carpet, leatherette booths and stools - hasn't changed much althought the art on the walls is changed every 4-6 weeks as the café has doubled as an Art gallery with new art for sale since opening.
