Normally I'm a bit skeptical with sushi, it's either done really well or really badly....usually not a risk worth taking on holiday! No reason to be worried here though, the food and service was fantastic. Me and my girlfriend initially wanted to try this restaurant to eat the whale, reindeer and horse grilled sticks as well as some of the... More

If you stay in Reykjavik and enjoy great sushi, you really have to go to Sakebarrin. Just one the best sushi I ever had, second time in Iceland an second time I am amazed by the quality of the sushi ( and I am a picky sushi lover), the salmon is just outstanding, and they manage to offer original but... We had the volcano roll and the diablo roll, with sake and a beef teriyaki starter. So good! Only fault is that sake is sold by the teensy shot glass, with a carafe available as multiples of the shots per carafe (4 or 6). Enclosed a pic of the lovely sushi.

We had a selection of sushi rolls and all were very fresh and tasty. The flavour choices were different to what we've seen before which was a highlight. We didn't even need to put soya or wasabi on them to get great flavour. Price was reasonable for the quality of the food.

I've been to Sakebarinn twice and both times I enjoyed delicious sushi and Viking beer. It's a smaller restaurant so I would recommend making a reservation. The food is fresh, delicious and generous portions. The service is friendly and pleasant. Definitely recommend checking out Sakebarinn if you are in downtown Reykjavik and find yourself craving sushi :)

Really enjoyed this restaurant, we had a window booth and was nice watching the street below us. We had whale to start with a delicious sweet sauce and then lobster tempura sushi for main. Absolutely delicious and beautifully served, i thought the price was vey reasonable for the exceptional quality.

I've had a lot of boring veggie sushi but not at Sakebarinn! The veggie sampler was incredible and my partner loved her salmon sushi.

Sushi was actually really nice, but we had to wait more than an hour to be served, no one asked if we wanted any drinks or dessert, or just if the food was nice. No one clean the table or asked if we wanted to pay or whatever. Extremely rude and unexpected staff.
