We found Snaps to be expensive, but you can say that of anywhere in Iceland, but with good service, and good food. We reserved a table by email, but I believe the restaurant only accept bookings until 6.30pm, at which point it is first come - first served. I had beef bourguignon, which was full of flavour, but tasted as... More

Excellent breakfast buffet and very filling. The chef and kitchen do a great job on all meals. Do not hesitate to eat there.

The history of this little restaurant is outside,.. built in 1946 this place is renowned for housing a communist coffee house between 1946 - 55, and went by the name of Commie Garden, As many people in the area lived in small rooms with no cooking facilities the coffee shop also sold home cooked meals. The socialist society and Reykjavik... More

Snaps was at the end of our road on our recent stay. During the five days we stayed we ate there 3 times and were never disappointed. It was busy every time we passed, regardless of the time of day. The Moules Frites were fantastic; large mussels, very clean, tasty broth and yummy matchstick chips. I can also recommend the... More

Heard about this from Grapevine Iceland, and it is worth a trip. But hard to get in unless you go off hours. I had the duck salad and it was delicious.

The best lamb chops I had ever tasted, everything that was being served looked delicious and portions were generous, many locals ate there which is always a good sign.

This place is great - and very popular with locals so book ahead! Excellent food and drink, with a jazz bar downstairs to top it all off. Perfect for a pre-dinner drink or to spend the whole night in.

Lovely little Bistro, nice decor and friendly atmosphere. Excellent service. Waitress was very friendly and helpful (checked with the Chef to ensure what I was ordering was actually Gluten Free, the dessert wasn't but they offered a gluten free Chocolate Cake which was delicious. I had Duck in orange sauce, potato and carrots for main. My partner had steamed mussels... More

Very busy restaurant. Good sign, but we were disappointed. Catch of the day was undercooked, and food oversalted (Icelandic taste?). and the Boeuf Bourgignonne was overcooked.
