Have passed by this place so many times & finally went in to try! It's really cute, warm & cozy & the staff were friendly. Very interesting decorations on the walls. There were lots of people in here on their laptops & phones, I guess due to the free wifi. Had a great chai latte, nice & hot, not too... More

We went to Cafe Babalu on Sunday Morning. We had Coffee, Hot Chocolate and Crepes. It tasted delicious. The Atmosphere was so nice. So much things to see and explore inside the cafe. I will be back for sure. Tip: take a look at the toilet downstairs- a star wars experience awaits you.

Ate a Babalu twice - the first time upon arrival in a torrential downpour. The lamb stew, tomato soup, grilled cheese and tea were perfect for the two of us- all tasted good and were priced reasonably for Reykjavik. The second time was for lunch- this time we ate on the second floor and enjoyed the yummy chocolate cake. Staff... More

We enjoyed a late afternoon lunch at Babalu which was delightful. The eating area is rather small, but cozy. I believe there is a second floor eating area, but we were on the first floor. We ordered the lamb soup which was just right for a cold rainy day in February. The vegetable/pesto panini was also very good. Prices were... More

Wonderful quirky little cafe. My grind and I had yummy local lamb soup for a fraction of the price of most places. Great taste and great if you are on a budget.

Traditional, relaxed and friendly. What more do you need. Great place to sit and read or use the free wifi Coffee and 3 hot chocolates with cream for 2,190 ISK.

A bit tight for our family of six and a little confusing on order process. Food yum and staff really friendly would be nice to have a few smaller options for kids but ours just shared. Only small thing was the kids hot chocolate was cold so more like choco milk :-)

Babalu is our favourite cafe to visit when we're in Reykjavik! We love the atmosphere and quirky decor and mismatched furniture. Babalu serve great drinks and food - they do a good selection of vegetarian food and their homemade cakes are amazing! It's the best place to hang out, people watch and chill for a couple of hours.

We visited Cafe Babalu as my wife had spotted its reviews before going to Rekjavik and we were not disappointed. Excellent coffee and wonderful NY cheesecake served by friendly staff.
