A must if in Rekyavik and super affordable in the heart of the city. The hot dog is 70% lamb and if you get an everything u might be confused at first since all condiments are under the hotdog which helps it not be so messy to eat.

So, I would not normally wait in line for a hot dog....but it's a must in Reykjavik! The dogs with everything were actually really good! And at US$4.15, it's a steal! Just go. That's all!

The hot dogs are good but the crispy onions make it special. It's open late which is nice to grab a bite after having a few drinks. Worth a visit.

Everyone says if you go to Reykjavik you have to try the hot dogs. We did, and the fella serving us was super nice, and the hot dogs were excellent. If you are looking for some cheap eats--and who isn't in Reykjavik, I would definitely recommend this place!

I was unsure if this hotdog would live up to all the hype - but it did! We didn't wait in line long at all! And the hotdog with everything was amazing! We used the hotdog as an appetizer before going out to a sit down dinner. Then later in the trip we had a hotdog for lunch and went... More

Crispy onions and sauces are worth having. Not easy to find with building work in area but lots of people there. Queue goes down quite quickly

Get one with everything. The condiments with the crispy onions make it so delicious! Line was somewhat long, but it moves really fast. A must have when in Reykjavik!

A must try when in Iceland. Easy to locate, queues of a night but well worth the wait. Cost is 450krona and order the lot they are very yummy and you'll go back for more.

Description
Baejarins beztu pylsur (English: The best hot dog in town) often shortened to simply "Baejarins beztu", is a popular hot dog stand in central Reykjavik, Iceland. In August 2006, the British newspaper The Guardian selected Baejarins beztu as the best hot dog stand in Europe.

The majority of Icelanders have eaten at Baejarins beztu. It's downtown near the harbor and has been open since 1937. Foreign visitors are often brought to the stand to introduce them to the hot dogs there, which are often called "the Icelandic national food." Among famous people who have eaten at Baejarins beztu are Bill Clinton, former president of the United States, and James Hetfield, vocalist of the popular heavy metal band Metallica.

A hot dog condiments include ketchup, sweet mustard, fried onion, raw onion and remoladi, a mayonnaise-based sauce with sweet relish. Hot dogs are often ordered with "the works," i.E., All condiments, or in Icelandic "eina med ollu".
