How is Turun Kellariravintola rated?

Saturday at midday the town in bustling: fast food restaurants and others are equally full but just behind the Kauppahalli and below street level the Kellariravintola was devoid of patrons. We were the first customers after it opened and enjoyed a full a-la-carte lunch. The...menu is not extensive but the artichoke soup starter is excellent as was the beefsteak main course. Still having room, we opted for a chocolate cake dessert with ice cream which was another excellent choice to complete the meal. The staff were eager and unhurried and worked well to provide an excellent service and as the dining rooms were extensively unoccupied we benefited from a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere. A perfect contrast to the shopping rush taking place above and I would suggest that patrons choose an early booking to enjoy the same benefits a we.More

Saturday lunch with a friend

We had a late lunch on Saturday. The restaurant proved to be an excellent choice to have a nice chat with a friend while enjoying a vegetarian meal. There were not many customers and the music at the background was just perfect - not too...loud. The food and service were good. The toilet was a bit disappointing though : it was cold in there and something should be done to make it more cosy. It wasn't dirty or anything like that but in my opinion it needs to be redecorated to make it more up-to-date and as nice as the restaurant itself.More

Cellar Restaurant, that also serves lunch

We had Saturday night dinner here and there weren't too many customers, which was a surprise, because many other places we called/visit were fully booked. Cozy entrance, but cellar was little boring, it's over 100 years old building, so there would've been many different options...to make it more "homely". Service was quite fast and friendly, menu was maybe little over priced. My blinis weren't best I have had, but good enough.More

Nice place

We were a group of ten people and ate here one evening in the middle of the week. The place looked nice. The food and service were okay.

Very good

We went in on a Thursday night to dine, and were not disappointed with our food. A restaurant that manages both vegetarian and meat dishes on this level deserves applause. The beer list is a bit on the short side, and would benefit from a...refreshing, though.More

Good cellar restaurant in Turku downtown

Conveniently located very near Turku Market Hall in Linnankatu. Fresh and harmonious cellar restaurant with cabinets for more private functions. Their lunch was good today: fresh and versatile salas buffet, creamy forest mushroom soup, main dishes were chicken fillet topped with chevre cheese and fried...baltic herrings in butter and dill sauce. Nice winelist. I recommend for lunch especially, but why not for dinner as well. Professional, friendly and smily personnel.More

Nice dinner in the cellar

Very good service. We had a great dinner and definitely enjoyed the menu and the restaurant. Food was tasty we had steaks and the atmosphere in the cellar is nice.

Good lunches and dinner

It's a great lunch restaurant as well as for dinners. We have been 10 people or more and we've always got great service. The menu is traditional an well-tasting. Allergies is never a problem. Both dairy-free and glutenfree food is available. Perfect place also for...families.More

Atfoshere excellent

very brilliant food and very fast and good service. I recommend warm to go there and enjoy...they have the best kitchen staff in Turku...Portions are big and tasty...

Good lunch

It is a good place for lunch. The athmospere is confortable and the price is normal for lunch, 9,90€. Food is so called "homefood" and it is two different warm dishes. Parking is a problem but in lunchtime you can find a parking lot somewhere...near.More

Traditional long standing premium quality restaurant

I've been customer of this restaurant for ages, from 80's if I can remember it right, but somehow I haven't been there for a decade or something. Suddenly me and my wife desided to go there and try how everything looks and tastes in this...long tradition restaurant nowadays. The staff were really up for the task of presenting everything that was brought to the table. Restaurant have a relaxed & cosy atmosphere and it was a pleasure to enjoy this peaceful moment with my wife. We ordered full settlement and each course was a taste sensation from the beginning to dessert. Only minor imperfections were noticed, as slightly tasteless potatoes and maybe a bit small portion on main course, but with full menu, no broblem at all. I'm sure it won't take long to visit this underground treasure again.More

Tasty food in the cellar
