We were on holiday in Turku for a summer music festival, and were hoping to try some traditional Finnish food. This unassuming restaurant was actually quite close to our accomodation, and we decided to give it a try, even though it didn't appear very fancy,...and was away from the main restaurant town area. However, we were very surprised by how lovely it looked inside, and the kind, welcoming attitude of the servers. They were extremely friendly, and we felt very cared for! My partner ordered toast skagen to start, and then a seafood and cream cheese pizza. The toast skagen was beautiful, and the pizza was also very high quality, and very delicious. The menu has a great mix of traditional dishes and modern things. Unfortunately, there was a mistake with my dish. I ordered a large, main course version of toast skagen, hoping for the same prawns, boiled egg, mayo, rye bread, and roe, that I had seen my partner have in small starter form. However, I recieved no prawns, and instead had two large dollops of mayos and red onion. I did not realise the mistake until halfway through, and this meant I could only eat one rye bread and the egg, as I really don't like the flavour of raw onion. When we told the waitress, she was very apologetic, and didn't charge us for the meal. Mistakes happen and I am sure this was a real one off, and if I had had the dish before and realised the mistake, I would've said straight away, and I feel definite they would've happily provided me with the right thing! I will definitely try toast skagen again! Overall, while we had a bad experience, I would highly recommend the restaurant :)More
