Got a gift card as a wedding present. Two appetizers, three starters, two main courses and two desserts - all absolutely amazing. Carefully planned and made with creativity, humour and style. Both visually and culinary extraordinary. We thought Kaskis might be a little overrated, but...after our dinner we are convinced that they deserve all the credit they recieve. Our best dining experience in Turku.More
Overall a great experience! The food was innovative and tasty, and their non-alcoholic drink menu was so well constructed as well. The service was very good, and the atmosphere was cozy.
A very good 7 course meny. What is in I Iy can be found elsewhere in th net,but it's supposed to be a suprise so I wont elaborate it more than this: consider seasoning the broth based meat course sauce first after reducing it. Now...it was too salty when ready. We felt that evening was wery succesful anyhow, with intetesting psired ( premium wines) My 5 points just are rare. .More
We come for curiosity but this place did not disappoint us. We liked food and drinks! People who work here is very kind. Thank you
I've been here a few times but this is my first review. They surprise every time with a different mixture of flavours. Because I would run out of superlatives I'll just state the essentials about the food: just excellent and delicious. The basic wine package...is usually good enough and I've tried the premium package a couple of times; this time, only the rose was nothing to write home about (but still decent). The whites were really good (I'm not a big fan of whites) and the red with the meat was truly excellent. The thing with the food is to keep it simple with local and fresh ingredients. After the dessert, the selection of cognac and calvados was amiable. The service was professional and friendly as always. I can't praise this place enough; if in doubt, go and check it.More
I just don’t get it how this restaurant is so much hyped. Creative ideas but lack of flavour and technique. No wonder they haven’t received their Michelin star. And sad to say but most of the dishes were either heavily inspired by two Michelin star...restaurant Jordnaer in Copenhagen as they mostly try to look the same. The food continuously lacks of taste. The service is extremely slow. On top of that some of the dishes were explained to us and after that explained to another table totally differently. There is a huge potential in the restaurant but sadly on this occasion - not in a successful way.More
I feel pampered. Perfect menu with perfect wines. Loved the passion and enthusiasm of the sommelier!
Very delicious and extremely well combined 8 set course menu. The food was scrumptious and presented in a very artistic and beautiful way. The restaurant has a nice ambience as all guests eat the same menu so it is not that people are coming and...going. The staff were friendly and took a great effort to explain the composition of all dishes. It was also very practical to have all cutlery at a drawer at the table for all meals. The wine package was not that special and stories added did not give extra value - would have been more interesting to get information about the actual grapes, harvest and aging. Absolutely recommend Kaskis for a special occasion; there is no other restaurant with this unique concept in Turku.More
Small and cozy little restaurant with excellent food coupled with great wines and outstanding service.
Suberb! Excellent proficiency and knowledge of wines, every question gets answered. A real professional who takes everyones likes and needs in consideration.
Kaskis is a place to go when you want a special fine dining experience. Place is very popular, and it seats perhaps 30 people, so book in advance. Set tasting menu is full of flavourful dishes made of local or finnish produce. Be prepared to...spend 3 - 4 hours of culinary time.More
a fine and fancy place with a very welcoming and committed staff. There were issues with table booking and requests to shift the date, but let us admit that in pest times such things may happen. And the food, which is the main point of...visit, is stunning, and there was numerous evidence that it was extremely fresh and locally sourcedMore
After two cancelled table bookings due to renovation and COVID issues and a request from the restaurant to rearrange the time we finally managed at the fourth attempt to have a meal at Kaskis. The new 'concept' is most certainly different as there is only...a set menu of nine very small courses provided for all diners complimented with either an alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks menu. All the food ingredients are sourced locally, so we are told although the non-alcoholic drinks menu includes and American beer that I wouldn't cross the street for. One cannot criticise the attentive manner of the staff, the quality of the way in which the food has been cooked, but the presentation appears to be motivated by a Monet enthusiast with far too many bright blue, white and yellow flowers decorating the various creations. For me this was all unnecessary and did not add to the purity of the real food. As we have previously noted, some courses comprise the cheapest ingredients and when one considers the total cost of the meal the accountant must be extremely pleased with the profit margins. Kaskis is a very small establishment, the decor is simple. Table placements do not conform to social distancing recommendations and provide little room for wait staff to pass between diners. Walls are plain and noise levels can be high at times so for an establishment that boasts fine dining there must be better options. I hesitate to suggest that Kaskis although being special in some sense, is surviving on a reputation that is somewhat misguided or simply caters to the egoist.More
6 totally different portions but excellent entirety. Very expensive and full booked restaurant but worth every euro (cents dont count in this restaurant).
