Excellent food! Really tasty, big portions. Nice and friendly atmosphere. Definitely we will go again.
It was not bad compared to average restaurant in Finland, because most of them are pretty much the same. But not nearly that good compared to restaurants in Georgia. Or Georgian restaurants in Russia for that matter
never disappoints, delicious food and good georgin wine, especially there is a lot of vegetarian and gluten free options, service was great
delicious food, friendly service ,nice interior ,everything was perfect. i recommend it everyone. will comeback again ❤️❤️😍
Have been in Tallinn and St Petersburg( years ago) in Georgian restaurant and, got to say, this was far from it. The bottom of the bread bottom of the portion was ao hard that you couldn't get a piece of it with knife. Told that...to the waitres, her comment was " ou, that's pitty" As a compensation of uneated portion we got 10% discount, Don' t recommend the place.More
Excellent experience, friendly staff who gave us hints on how to eat the dumplings correctly by hand :) Food was delicious and atmosphere great.
I seek out Georgian restaurants whenever I travel. Rioni Turku is about average. Nothing really stood out. We ordered a bit too much food because the portions were ample, and we had extra cheese bread to take away (which was still delicious the next day)....The beef stew was a bit thin and there was not enough bread to soak it all up. The beef dumplings were about par. Service was friendly enough. And they had some nice strong Georgian wine. We were too full to try their desserts. If you have a yen for Georgian food, they will do. But I think for the price, I had higher expectations, even given the generally higher food costs in Finland.More
There were two waitresses, the service was slow and not pleasant. One of the waitresses was sitting with a guy so basically one girl was serving the whole place. The food was quite ok. I guess we are not coming back.
Never thought I’d be eating Georgian food in Finland but here we are! Loved the food: the dumplings and the chicken spicy stew. They push the cheese bread which is ok Be warned the portions are big and they bring it all when it’s ready...which is overwhelming. We asked for starters first and then a break and we shared. The waiter say oh it all comes together to be shared but staggering is best. We had to then ask for separate bowls so we could share the stew and no one offered us plates to share the other dish. Once we asked servers they accommodated but if it is a sharing food culture then this should be a given. Nice Georgian wines and beers. One beer and 3 wines. 3 starters to share and two main to share €123 ( drinks around €40) and STUFFED!!!More
Arguably the best stews you could find, they have incredible customer service, theres food that suits everyone and they have great cheese bread.
It was a nice experience, but there is always a but. We ordered starters, a middle course and a main course each. What surprised us was that all the food was served at the same time, both starter, mid-course and main course. The hot dish...was cold when we were going to eat it and we felt a lot of stress and pressure to finish this dinner in time. The flavors were ok, the skewer / kebab was a bit dry and the meat in the dumplings was raw pork, but tasted good. We were given a reduced price for the dumplings due to the minced pork being partially raw. The waitress we had spoke good English but spoke so quietly we could barely hear what she was saying. Overall, it was a nice experience, we were satisfied, but did not exceed our expectations.More
We had dinner with our friends here and even though food was definitely worth of 4 stars, I left there little bit disappointed. Of course central location means high prices, but it also meant that there were drunk people other side of the window staring...to your table. Service was friendly, but next time maybe it's better to bring drinks first and give some time to check menus. Interior was "sterile" and not that cozy, unlike usually in Georgian restaurants in different countriesMore
Tucked away at the western end of the Hansa Block in Turku one will find the Georgian Restaurant, Rioni. From the outside it looks nothing like what is available once you step across the threshold. We went there for a celebration dinner and ordered, after...recommendation, speciality bread for each of us, one main course meal each plus dumplings. I was astonished as to the quantity of food that was placed before us: so much that we had to take a large proportion with us when we left to enjoy back at home. The staff were friendly and efficient in spite of most tables being occupied and the food was traditional and very tasty. Although it may be getter to reserve a table for dinner, at lunch times there are many free tables when it is well worth a visit for a filling meal. This must be quite unique within Turku and well worth experiencing but be forewarned the quantity of food far exceeds most other restaurants.More
Really recommend Rioni Turku for its outstanding service & food - even at lunch time! 👍😊👌 C U again!
