Our hotel was next to Railway Station and this place was only like 10mins walk from there. From outside not the prettiest one and interior also was more like "basic lunch place". Pleased to find an Asian restaurant a bit different from the usual Chinese - thai. We ordered rendan and satay ayam, both were good. Roti reminded me of street food of Singapore. Will probably come back.

We ate the vegatarian feast and it was the best Asian food I’ve eaten in Finland. The service was friendly. The winelist was a bit short.

Food was very tasty and full of flavours. It was quite spicy, so I don't recommend this restaurant for those who don't enjoy hot food. Service was quite slow, but friendly.

Helpful and friendly staff. During the lunch time the food is average and there is self service. Ok lunch for reasonable prize. Outside the lunchtime you cab get better and more special food.

What a terrible terrible terrible restaurant! We would give it 0 star if we could. I had curry laksa, which was sweet and salty. So, I asked for lime or lemon to cut through the unbalanced broth. But, the waitress said they didn’t have any...in stock. I ended up eating only the noodles and some chicken, not the broth. We expressed our dissatisfaction to the waitress and said we are only willing to pay half for the laksa dish and full for everything else. The chef then came over and disagreed with our complaints. He kept explaining on how this is their family recipe and that no one has ever complained before. He said this is how laksa is served and the seasoning in his opinion is all balanced. In the end, they said they don’t have the authority to give us discount for the laksa. If we insist for discount we have to wait for 20 mins for the owner to come to the restaurant to speak to us. We ended up paying the full bill instead of waiting for the owner to come. Waiting 20 mins for a €7 discount is not worth the time. Avoid. Poor service, extremely bad attitude to customer feedback, if they keep operating like this the restaurant will fail.More

Went for dinner prior to Christmas. Only 4 customers in the restaurant. The welcome was very low key and the service impersonal. The 2 waitresses seemed preoccupied with chatting and rearranging their hair. We ordered the Borneo selection so we could sample the range. The...chilli prawns were nice but served lukewarm. The chicken and beef dishes were hot and pleasant. The roti canai bread was delightfully light. All was partnered with the Riesling wine. For dessert we ordered the grilled banana with ice cream and popcorn. After a couple of minutes the waitress came back to say they had no bananas. That rather summed up the whole experience. We would not advise people against going to the Borneo restaurant but we wouldn’t go back ourselves.More

We ordered the selection for two which includes satay skewers, 3 curries (prawns, chicken, meat) 2 varieties of rice and bread - and it was delicious! The location is elegant but the atmosphere is relaxed at the same time. You can tell that there is...a lot of care for details. Service is great, they also had a magician to entertain tables while waiting for food! Very nice, we will come back when in Tampere.More

Very tasty food in a simple place, a few clicks out of the center. We visited twice during our week holiday in Tampere: first time by curiosity and second time very much purposely!

Travelling for work let you visit a lot of restaurants. When I am in a city I already visited I always go for a new experience; not so in Tampere! Borneo is always worth the visit!! With a menu which has a lot of diversity...I am sure to keep visiting Borneo in the future. The food is great, the service perfect and the price is good. Nothing to complain.More

Very ascetic place but staff was friendly and service fast. Food was best Malaysian food I have tasted in Finland. No spices were spared when cooking.
