Pulteri is the first neighbourhood pub in Finland celebrating 50th anniversary. Luckily we booked a table, because restaurant was full when we arrived. Staff was friendly, restaurant itself is very casual. I ordered grilled salmon with mashed potatoes and mushroom sauce. Portion was huge but...delicious. And hungry man could eat it all. As dessert I took crepes with strawberry jam and ice cream. It didn’t offer any surprise but it was just what I wanted. This restaurant offered good value for money. It was a big positive experience.More

We went there on Saturday evening after nine and had to wait to get a table. It looked like a local pub (in a good way). Portions were pretty big and tasted ok. Nothing spectacular but nothing to complain either. Pancakes were nice touch for...a dessert. Nice and friendly staff.More

This is one hidden gem outside the Tampere city area but the place is easily accessed by bus. Great place in a beautiful area. Pispala is really traditional part of Tampere city and Pulteri is one of the go-to places in Pispala. The old and...traditional restaurant hall creates really relaxed mood. The food here is also really really good.More

If you are visiting Tampere, you should certainly come to Pispala. This area overlooks both the north and south lakes of the city. The food at Pulteri was good, not amazing but certainly good. I had the veggie burger. There was a lot of flavour...but the burger was a bit dry. My friend had the meatballs. The sauce and mashed potatoes were delicious but the meat lacked some taste. The sweet potato balls were divine!More

A nice and relaxed place in a classic Tampere neighbourhood. Service was very friendly, smiling and quick. The super steak was delicious and huge and the sides (asparagus and sweet potato fries) really tasty. As a dessert I chose chocolate cake with espresso. A great...meal with friends; highly recommended!More

Pispalan Pulteri is established 1968 and you can hear the whisper of that age. Place is relaxed like a pub to have a couple beers, but still they offer great food with a good price. The athmosphere is very local, so I can imagine especially...travellers would enjoy this. Highly recommended.More

A devoted client of the legendary Sea Horse in Helsinki for over 20 years but more than 30 meals at Pispalan Pulteri since 2014 if anything makes it a Truer Finn experience especially with the cross section of real Tampere clientele. KRVH London

2018 celebrating fifty years. Very local, very Tampere like and very easy. Nice stuff, relaxed feeling. Menu is very Finnish, partly like home made and they use a lot of local foodstuff. Try their "Super Steak": You can make Your own portion with all the...side dishes etc. You want. Lot´s of beers, try strong and dark Savukataja.More

This Tampere pub was one of the first "real pubs" in Tampere when it started in 1968. Interestingly enough, the premises housed earlier a milk shop...Now beer, good food an a laid-pack "Tampere-style" atmosphere. Famous for its grilled meat portions, but typical Finnish salmon soup and...fried Baltic herring is also available. Although basically a pub there is a friendly waiter service. Not too many tables so especially on busy evenings, a booking is adviseable. Go to their web pages for a nice introductory video!More
