Great food and many options, also traditional Finnish food. Super quality, popular place and a lot of regular customers. Highly recommended! 👍

Cheap lunch

Eating outside on terrace was a nice surprise. Lunch salad good enough and big enough. Not too cosy inside but very popular because of the price I guess.

Good place for salad and lunch meals

I love Edun, not only that is an affordable place to eat... it is also lovely to dine here during summer time. They have tables outdoors and you can have a salad lunch meal for only 6.90 euros (salad, bread, softdrink and cofee/tea). During winter, do not expect that you can get a seat at the restaurant because they only have few tables and chairs indoors. Nevertheless, many people still come here for takeaway orders. I love their salmon and pasta salads.

Edun Herkkukeidas in Tullikamarinaukio Tampere is the Finnish home made food lunch cafe. There you can find meatballs, mince filled cabbage rolls etc every day. Also salads.

They serve food that has a homemade feel to it and it is portioned on your plate according to your wishes. Very nice concept to balance out the faceless fast food joints. Prices are not bad at all and the food is delicious too!

This is where locals go for lunch. Brilliant value. Excellent lunch salads. Brilliant grilled salmon. Epic jumbo meatballs. Friendly service. Nice patio in the summer.

Easy choice at Herkkukeidas

If you are looking lunch at Tullintori; I would recommend Herkkukeidas for you. Order grilled salmon with salad or there are other good portions, but this is my favourite. Very moderate prices, good food, big portions quarantee that you do not leave with empty stomach. Warning; can be growded at lunch time.

Another lunch favourite

I frequent this place for lunch often many times a week, and not only because it is located close to where I work, but also because it offers great value for your money. It is also located just a couple of blocks from Dream Hostel, so if you are staying there I suggest trying out this place for lunch. If you are looking to taste a traditional, Finnish home cooked -style food, I suggest visiting Edun Herkkukeidas. They have plenty of dish options, some of which are available every day (for example, such a staple as meatballs and mashed potatoes) and daily changing specialties. My personal favourite are the chicken tenderloins in buffalo style sauce, which are are insanely delicious. The place can get pretty crowded during the colder months (especially around 11:00 or 12:00), but during the summer the bar next door (Passion) lets Edu’s clients to use their large patio, just remember to return your tray after you’re done eating! The prices start from around 5 euros for salads and soups and top at around 10 euros for the better meat/fish dishes. All dishes include a side salad and a soft drink of your choice.
