Excellent taste, value for money

This restaurant was recommended for us by a vegetarian. I had long wanted to eat here. Booking a table is necessary as the restaurant was nearly full even though we went on a lazy Sunday afternoon. The service is very friendly and fast. One of the waiters was discreetly humming with the nice background music when working. The food mood spreads and friendliness is always a treat you appreciate And the food itself! We had Supra for two. So delish, all well cooked, beautifully displayed and the portions are generous in size. We got to take nearly half of the food with us as the menu is so large. This is one of the places you won't leave hungry. I highly recommend this place because of its food, service and atmosphere.

Tasty and filling food

Ate here for the first time and had a nice experience. Food was tasty and filling. We couldn't eat everyhting on the spot so our waiter David was nice enough to offer to put the food in takeaway boxes for later eating. I can recommend pairing lobiani bread with adjika sauce. They really compliment each other. Will be coming back here again.

Birthday dinner at Rioni, Tampere

Georgian khachapuri bread and any stew meal with local seasonings are super tasty and satisfying. You definitely won’t leave the place with hunger afterwards and you get the value for the money. Strongly recommend to visit the place to have the most delicious dinner in town if you haven't had previous experience from a Caucasian cuisine. Moreover, a special thanks for a friendly and warm service by David. On top of the dinner he provided a sweet surprise dessert for a birthday person. ;)

Incredible food and fabulous service

What an experience! My mom loves Georgian food but for me and her friend this was a first one and all I can say is WOW. The food was some of the best I’ve had in Tampere, Georgian wine paired with it perfectly and the service was incredible. I’m not a fan of eggplants but the starters were so good I might just change my mind. And the meat was so tender it was melting in my mouth (I had chicken kharcho, while my mom had grilled lamb). I am definitely coming back in the future and would 100% recommend Rioni because the food is just that good. Fair warning though: the portions are huge and you will be rolling out of there for sure.

Amazing food

Everything was so delicious i cant breathe. Or eat anything else ever again. AND THE WINE! Drink georgian wine or you will regret it <3 Supra menu was a perfect start on discovering the georgian food culture. High recommendation to ALL !

hearty food, pleasant surroundings

Rioni is an authentic Georgian restaurant that is consistently excellent, friendly and satisfying. On a bitterly cold night it was warm and relaxing, serving hearty food and robust wines with panache and careful attention to customer needs. We were very slow with the starters – a simple green salad plus their wonderful baked cheese-bread – but instead of just serving the main course when we were barely half way through, they actually asked us to signal when we were 5 minutes away from wishing our main course to be served. They were also accommodating when my colleague requested that they remove some of the crunchy raw veggies from his salad and just replace them with extra salad leaves. The salads were fresh and tossed in a simple but tasty dressing. As main course my colleague took the chicken in walnut sauce, while I had one of the veggie versions (sauteed cauliflower florets in the same sauce). Both were absolutely delicious, though so large we were unable to finish them! One small blemish is that, when we came to pay the bill, the credit card terminal asked us what tip we wished to add: very jarring in Finland, especially in what I assume is a family-owned establishment. The prices are not too steep, but this is not correct etiquette. If people want to leave extra they can do so in cash, or by request, not by being electronically embarrassed into doing so. I just hit the zero button, on principle. Apart from this, Rioni is a great experience: lovely food in very pleasant surroundings.

Wonderful experience also for vegan eaters

Georgian cuisine has been a favourite of mine for a long time, but rarely have I had chances to sample its delicacies. Thus I was excited when a Georgian restaurant opened in my old hometown. Rioni did not disappoint me. As expected, vegan selection was wide, as it should be in Georgian cuisine (long cultural roots there), and everything was marked very clearly. We had a sumptuous starter selection, juicy mushroom dumplings and a bean casserole – everything was great, but the bean casserole "lobio" was a truly great experience! I will definitely return here.

Rioni won't leave you hungry

A refreshing exception in Tampere restaurant scene. Central location. Huge portions that won't leave anyone hungry. Many meatless options. A watery bean stew was somewhat disappointing, other dishes were tasty. Cheese bread was really good, a lot better than the brand widely promoted by a male actor in Finland.

A great first experience with Georgian food

I know nothing about Georgian food, but I have no doubt that this was authentic and traditional. The food was great but quite heavy, so make sure you are hungry when you go. You will not leave with an empty stomach! Our waiter David was nice and professional. The atmosphere was peaceful and cozy, yet sophisticated, and the interior design really added on to the experience.

Best Georgian in Baltic Sea

We had a team meeting in Tampere and wanted something different for the dinner. Coming here some of us were suspicious, but from the start the things turned nice. Excellent service attitude and good recommendations made life easy. Appetisers weee fresh, dumplings tasty, breads good and main courses had such authentic taste.

Fresh and delicious

Our party of four shared the original supra menu. Absolutely delicious. Each dish was perfectly made and presented beautifully. Staff was super kind and helpful. Gonna visit again.

Everything deserves a plus

Sitting here with my daughter and had some different khachspuris with some georgian white wine. All things here was excellent with a reslly friendly staff. Got to taste their brilliant honey cake which was familiar to us but do recommend people to ask and try it out. In general, come and try good food here, will be coming back at some point.

Excellent, we love it!

Rioni is a great place, we go there regularly and the food is always amazing. They have a variety of very tasty khachapuris, great meat dishes (grilled meat, stews - all great, my favorite is chicken stew with walnuts) that go perfectly with georgian wine or lemonade. The staff is always super nice and friendly as well.

Great food

Worth it, that we decided to go and celebrate our wedding anniversary. we didn't have any ideas about Georgian food at all,big thanks to Maria shes friendly ,nice and accomodate us and helping to choose what they have on their menu,and yes we ordered the Supra set menu for 2 person and wow super delicious and tasteful,and we ordered also the Georgian red wine Kindzmarauli. thanks again to Maria for good recommendation. at the end were both surprised with my husband ,thanks Rioni and all the staffs for the free sweet and loving anniversary desserts. We like it alot and highly recommend to everbody. We will be back for sure very good food and nice atmosphere. Big thanks to Maria so helpful ,friendly and nice.

Birthday celebration

We heard about the place from our friend, he said it would be a Good place to eat with 12 person company. We made a reservation and everything was done perfectly. The place itself is beautiful, comfy and clean. Food was incredibly good. Customer service was nice, kind and fast. I will definitely come there again. They even made a surprise birthday cake with a candle to our birthday girl.
